Memberluen – thanks for this. i have included tarmizi in “core”. i would not want to increase race time as we have a time limitation. would rather reduce drivers and keep to 80cc with 100cc as an option for advanced drivers.

ParticipantGiven the number of 80 cc karts, we can assume that up to 20 karts are available. Depending on on the number of companies or car clubs interested, its possible for one organisation to field 2 teams.

Member
Hi all,
after discussion with Bro Naza and Tarmizi, we agreed that 1 hour race for 3 drivers per team is simply to pack to practise and race.
bro… i was thinking about this… i think 1 hour for 3 drivers is do-able. so i am not sure how would it be too packed. perhaps you can elaborate?

Participantif we located 15 minutes practise session for 3 drivers, plus pit in/out each driver will probably takes about 2 to laps each driver to familiar with the kart.
Left 45 minutes for endurance race divide by 3 drivers, which take about 15 minutes each. In 15 minutes session taking the average of 1 minutes 20 second average per lap, each driver takes about 11 laps excluded pitting time.Just feel that is abit to pack and short of time for endurance race though.

I gather that Amri’s race was formatted thus:
Qualifying = 5 mins > Time Trial for Sprint race grid position (any or all drivers can participate and the best lap time taken to determine starting grid for the sprint race.
Sprint Race = 20 mins > Team will nominate one driver to race. This race determines your starting grid for the endurance race.
Endurance Race = 40 mins > The reamaining two drivers

ParticipantHere my suggestion endurance format for IC3…
It’s easier to get 2drivers in a team intead of 3 or 4,If you have 4 driver in a club can be team club A & club B…..Racing format…
Each driver has to finish the min of 25min…for 2 session…
example:1st session – 0-10min (driver A)
1st pit open – 10-15min (driver change to B)
2nd session – 15-25min (driver B)
2nd pitstop – 25-30min (driver change to A)
3rd session – 30-40min (driver A)
3rd pitstop – 40-45min (driver chnage to B)
4th session – 45- 55 min (driver B)Endurance end 55min, extra 5min for each driver A&B to qualifly for post position before the race start! driver only can change during pitstop time, there will be a marshal at the pitstop to show green flag fro 5min for pitstop…
if any team driver miss entry to the pit to chnage driver during pitstop,the team will be disqualified for the race!29 April 2007 at 3:44 pm #4740luen
Participantinteresting 2 drivers per team as dicussed before. Team principal sponsor 2 teams format.
2 drivers format
================
5 minutes sprint race for grid position of 1 driver, 55 minutes for endurace race of 2 drivers.Each driver will at least 15 minutes drive time, with no pit stop limitation. Pit opens at first 15 minutes and close at last 15 minutes. Any team misses pit window will penalised.
Reason being, tean principal will have the right to impose race stategy of which team to pit first and which to stay out. Minimize pitting times will also shows the real endurance race for both drivers karts, stategy and team work.
3 dirvers format
================
As mentioned above by Bro Naza. 20 minutes sprint race deciding team grid position for endurance race. 40 minutes enurance race of 2 drivers with at leat 15 minutes drive time. Pit window opens at first 15 minutes and close at last 15 minutes with no pitting time limitation. Any team misses pit windows will be penalised.We need to decide the number of drivers per team ASAP. My vote will goes to 2 drivers format.

the decision on number of drivers per team is probably tied to the cost per driver. i am going to assume first that we are going to run on 80cc. the logic being, we want to open IC3 to a new market of drivers and not the normal people who join our KART and enduro series.
we need to agree on the price per 80cc kart per hour. the CK pricing for the A1TM event is RM280 per kart per hour. so if we go for 2 drivers it would be RM140 per driver. a bit steep, i think – esp for newbies.
pls note that the CK pricing for A1TM is for afternoon session where they charge by time block, instead of the normal per 8 lap race charge we get for the K3 series. we should aim to nego further, and perhaps event slot the IC3 for morning session – when there is no crowd to get better rates.
i would aim to keep the rate per driver no more than RM100.
in the longer term, we may look at IC3 on a 100cc basis as well.
