Sprocket size depends on various factors including driver weight, engine performance and as you mentioned – the track.
I am using an exceptionally large sprocket (Size 86) wheareas most others are using 81 to 84. For me, I have an ailing engine and a fat ass for the ailing engine to shift, so with the 86 sprocket I can still get around 14,000 rpm if I push hard. But, if you put an 86 sprocket on say Naza’s kart (decent engine) you would over rev the engine.

If my memory is correct – i have used 82 to 84………for CK.
84 would guarantee a 14100+ rpm which is not so good for engine longetivity.
Best to aim for 13800-13900 peak rpm.

Since u have the Arrow kart – do search the net for some good references from Drew Price Engineering, the makers of the Arrow karts…. there were some excellent reads on chassis set ups, engine jetting etc. Of course, they are all for references only and best experimented with but at least there’s a start.
the above is correct.GIVEN the engine has reasonably good compression. for ck u can start with 82 and if you are short of rpm you can bring the teeth up to 84.
If i am not mistaken, currently im running on 83.

Its currently an 83 with not too much wear so I’ll stick with that and see how on the circuit.
Engine will be out during my lunch break, I’ll take the opportunity to drop by CK with it this week and see what they suggest, and then take a rational approach! (I didn’t use my compression tester for so long it’s almost rusted away and the tubing cracked). Noticed that the clutch drum has cracked, could have happened when the chain snapped.
Other than that everything is spot on.

Data loggers are very tough devices and repairs are very few if not none thus far. 2nd hands should sufffice but be prepared to bargain hard as they are very much sought after by karters.Check ebay, its worth the time.
