ParticipantNormally we rely on the track operators to shift our karts to different venues. So far, I’ve not come across anyone with a trailer although occassionally I see folks using pickup trucks (Mitsubishi Storm / Ford Ranger etc).
I also understand that a trailer involves a lot of red tape… not as simple as hook up and go. I tink you need to register it with JPJ, inspect it with Puspakom and surely have to pay fees along the way!
Sorry, it doesn’t answer your question, but at least explains why noone has responded yet 😛

ParticipantThere is a guy (an Aussie perhaps) that has a company that makes trailers – used by the motocross crowd.
Don’t have his contact details though and can’t remember what the company was called. I’ll try to find out for you.

ParticipantJust by sheer coincidence the trailer guy will be at the Speedway PLUS/Elite kart track tomorrow for a bit.
Let me know if you can and are interested in meeting him tomorrow.

ParticipantHi Da Lobster,
Thanks for the info. In Australia years ago if you had a small trailer it didnt need to be registered and I was kind of hoping in the, Malaysian Boleh way, here would be the same.

ParticipantHi Glenn,
Tot ur family name was Seton for a moment….
Yep, if trailers was that easy here I be mighty keen to make one for our race car…a towing charges can be a bore.
Anyhow, do tell us how you go.
Btw, Mikko n dad use to haul everything into their family’s MPV ( a Nissan Serena ) but have now seen a race bike in it, in the last years! LOL!

[/quote]Couln’t really remember clearly, believed a few years ago EON Glenmarie do sell trailers. Dunno whether Proton Glenmarie now with ACE still sells it or not.
Trailers need to be inspected by Puspakom & registered with JPJ for r/tax if I’m not wrong.

ParticipantThanks for the update, I was kinda thinking that my be true for Singapore but thought Malaysia would be OK. Anyway I also need to find out who is best to call about reconditioning 4 stroke engines and the complete kart for that matter.
I would love to do it at home but no space.
Cheers,

ParticipantHi all that helped.
I found the trailer guy in Ipoh, Brett MacNamara.
If I dont sell my big kart I will buy the trailer, I can fit the small cart in my CRV.
