event postponed to Saturday 4th June!
The first myKART Mega Endurance event organised by Steward on 8 Jan 2005 was a huge success. This was followed up by the Zero To Hundred website enduro a week later which was similarly well supported.
Due to the strong response, myKART is planning to have a quarterly Mega Enduro event which will allow teams and drivers to be crowned as 2005 enduro champion.
Details of MME Round 2 is as follows:

venu: Citykarting, Shah Alam Stadium Kart Circuit (COUNTER Clockwise)

Each team will need to do the following:[list=1]
[*]form a team
[*]nominate team principal and assistant principal
[*]the team principals are both not allowed to change teams – we should avoid a proliferation of teams in the enduro championship
[*]the team will score points only if one or both of the principals are participating
[*]the team principals shall select the drivers (4 drivers total including principals)
[*]driver weights: male, an average of 70kgs per driver and female, an average of 60kgs per driver (eg. if team has 4 male drivers, total minimum weight must be 70×4 = 280kgs… if team has 3 male and 1 female, then minimum weight must be 70×3 + 60 = 270kgs)

Bro – the date is tentatively set on 21st May. Would also like to suggest that the minimum weight per team is 280kg (ie average 70kg per driver) given that last time round most teams would easily exceed the weight limit. I believe this would be fairer across the board?

2 of our drivers (Mohd.Hanafi & Abdul Rahim) will not be able to make it this time,as they will be away in Indonesia competing in the Asian Road Race Championship.

Maybe there is a more scientific way of working out the penalty. Here is what I have in mind :
If 10kg = 1 sec per lap on the 80cc at the Shah Alam track, that’s the advantage of the underweight team.
10kg = 1 sec per lap, judging from the last race, 2 hours you can expect to complete 85 laps so a 10kg advantage will give you 85 second advantage which is roughly 1.16 laps (assuming MyKart average lap time of 1:14 on the 80cc).
Of course the above there are 3 assumptions which are debatable :
1. 10kg = 1 sec on the 80cc
2. 2 hours = 85 laps
3. Average lap time on 80cc is 1:14
But then again, we have to start somewhere and also have a simple workable solution…….

No, using actual weights for each underweight driver will be too cumbersome and time consuming to . If I understand it correctly, OSF’s proposal is to convert the weight penalty to time and finally to number of lap(s) penalty based on certain assumptions as discussed in the above thread, right OSF / Fazz?

Correction on the intepretation here. Here is how it works:

My initial thoughts would be to do what we do for our monthly sprint events. I would like this given the variability of rental karts performance. Swapping during the actual race before the chequered flag is interesting… but how to do lar?

Guys, looked ok to me too as an alternative to actually mounting lead weights on the karts which was not unusual in sanctioned races. We are made to all sorts of shapes and sizes and some of us are ultra light weight and ….hehehe and need to……(no, I will refrain from saying it …lol!!)

venu: Citykarting, Shah Alam Stadium Kart Circuit (COUNTER Clockwise)
Each team will need to do the following:
form a team
nominate team principal and assistant principal
the team principals are both not allowed to change teams – we should avoid a proliferation of teams in the enduro championship
the team will score points only if one or both of the principals are participating
the team principals shall select the drivers (4 drivers total including principals)

Its most likely new or relatively new 80 cc engines mounted on to used chassis which they have collected over time but not used as daily rental karts yet. I would like to think that it is City Karting’s business idea of attracting long term customers (like mykart of course) for their regular corporate events so that we will be happy with better karts. Well, mykarters definitely deserve better conditioned karts and hopefully they will do the same for the 100cc lah!

Steward – thanks bro.
I know how difficult it is to get all things to fall into place nicely. I believe the timing is not good for the month of June. First we’ve planned the Foundation Conference on 4th June (happy to move this though). Round 5 is on 18th June, (and round 6 on 2nd July, round 7 on 6th Aug)… so that leaves 11th and 25th available…. but both are going to be too close to our regular races.
It would be good to be the first ones on the new machines & tyres.
So why don’t we do this then… move the enduro to 4th June and the Foundation Conference to 11th or 12th June or some other date?
Steward still makes the call, so if agreed for the 4th, then quickly send out the notification and for all team principals register your teams.

as our discussion on the under weight penalty at minimun 270kg a team,we all agree that we start on the most heayweight teams follow by the lowest at the last & the 1st kart start off first before the 2nd kart by 5 second follow by the position till the last kart…
we already survey the different today on myself 95kg with khairul at 54kg weight diferent at the track today,so we decide this is the best solution till 2 hour cheaquer flag to decide the winner!
then we don’t have to recount back the time sheet.
Hope all particpants will be at citykarting 8am sharp…

Was thinking of meeting up with the King just to have a chit-chat this coming saturday, but since Naza the man is calling me to report for duty, I will be around at the track (of course, after checking with the Home minister’s programme. Maklumlah, Home minister is normally busy on weekends, especially on Agung’s birthday, many programmes to follow) to be a competitor (if got vacant seat) or marshal (if no vacant seat) or just be the cheerleader.
