Extra extra.. Hear all about it! Chicken Wings is here again!!
To all karters, new or senior karters,
It’s another chicken wings session to brush up your skills or get some new tips and advice from senior karters. I will really appreciate if those who are new to karting, or new to My-Kart; whom intend to join the next round (Round 4) dated on April 5th, 2008; will attend this chicken wings session. Hopefully we will have at least one session where we will have a proper pre-race for all drivers (supervised by senior karters) and look out on some mistakes and the don’t(s). So that incident that happen at Round1 will not happen again or will be minimal on the actual race day. Also we will have heaps of time to teach or assist you guys on how to do the actual “rolling start”. Reason why this can’t be done on actual race day? Because everyone is busy with organizing the karts, the groups, the race and etc.
Committee of My-Kart, please feel free to changed the content if you find anything missing or something shouldn’t be there. Thanks.

People,
Please be aware of the time that it starts on 1pm this time rather than in the morning. There is an event going on in the morning. Thanks Fazz for checking it for me. If there are any changes to it, I will post it here, so please check this post again once in a while to reconfirm everything.
The track is only open to public at 2pm, so I will really appreciate if the newbies can arrive at 1pm so we can go on with the briefing first. Thanks.

Guys, I have checked with CK. There will be a major event going on in the morning that occupied the carpark next to CK. But because it’s huge, the event management actually borrowed CK’s carpark as well. So in the morning, CK is assuming that there will be road closure due to the event. They advised us to be there for our chicken wings in between 1pm to 2pm.
Which means, Chicken Wings is still ON!!!

Hi guys.. I went to CK this
Hi guys.. I went to CK this afternoon, chit chat with AB and AC and this is the information and results that I got from them:
There is this children event which will have games or competition for the kids. The event starts from 4am until 12pm on Sunday. I was at the location and saw the setup. It’s massive. They actually covered the whole car park which most of the time, the drifters uses them for practice. They have games, a concert (maybe big bird is singing) and heaps more.
This means there is no parking for the cars. So they occupied CK’s parking and the space of the stadium as well (the spaces in front of CK’s garage). This means that CK is not open in the morning. But they are open after the children event which is 12pm.
Talked to AC about this and he said to give some time allowance for the cars to actually depart from their parking position. And to avoid all those traffic, he advised us to be at the track for our wings after 1pm. I hope the traffic is better after 1pm. I will be there as early as possible, to check if the private karts are able to be out on the track on Sunday (will come back to this topic later) So for the rest of the people who are coming for wings, be at the track after 1pm. And also be ready that we might start a little later than the time set.
Now.. about the private karts. I know some of you guys with your private karts has receive message from me or AB that there will be no practice from 28 March onwards until 9 April. But today I talked with him, and basically it was a misunderstanding between AC and him. AB thought that the event will start on the 28th and also occupied the whole day on 29th. And so AB thought that CK will not open. Next week will be RMC at Kota Bahru, so he and his gang will be away for the race. That is why he sent the message out saying that there will be no practice for private karts from 28th March to 9th April.
I talked to AB, and the final results was to wait till the owner of the karts arrive at the scene. Then he will see if he can get the karts from the garage, as I mentioned earlier that the space in front of their garage are used as a car park for the children event. So by the time we arrive and AB is able to get the karts out, then private karts is a GO!!
I hope the misunderstanding for some people is solved through this report. And I shall see all the buayas tomorrow at the track!!!

no worries on this. i wasn’t looking for anybody to follow them. only if they had come across you when racing.
they were both first timers on the 100cc. But had gone on the 80cc a few times in our company races (not that serious though). i had some comments that i gave them, but good to have other views as well. noted that most newcomers need to work a bit more on the braking technique.
in all the chicken wings (on 100cc) was fun. also had good fun earlier on 80cc with the earlier group.
btw, edwyn – thanks for leading the chicken wings programme.

Chicken Wings 04/08
Zaf and I had a great time @ chicken wings. However I was getting a little bit fed up with paying to be disappointed with an 80cc Kart. There seems to be a growing number of twisted chassis and flat engines out there.
To avoid total demorralisation we made the switch to 100cc, all resonably similar apart from the No.2 pink frame, which was absolutely perfect. The green Tonikart felt a bit twisted and oversteered.
I was hoping to follow Fazz and pick up some tips.. but he was gone! And I was more than cautious passing after an earlier incident.
Great to see everyone again

Anyway, about chicken wings… I can’t say I had as much fun as you guys just watching from the pit ;( , but who knows, maybe by round 5 i will have practiced so hard due to ‘lack of track’ these past weeks that you had better watch your backs (well, you’ll only see my back I guess hehehehe)!!

Chris,
Demoralised eh? me too after 3 sessions of crappy 80cc karts! Choosing a “good” kart is like buying a lottery ticket. If it is just too intolerable, pit and change to another kart (no guarantees though), better to lose 1 lap than suffer for the remaining laps.
..psst!, before you start, a quick chat with the mechanic boys to avoid the really bad ones has worked for me in the past. Yesterday was the exception.
