Memberrossi & loeb are natural favourites. of course, the names you mentioned from “the other side of the pond” like patrick and wheldon are other popular choices. personally, I’d like to see a true asian star. perhaps ho pin tung.

ParticipantWhom I’d like to see in F1?…Me! ok, half kidding aside, i’d like Alex to get another shot. Fairuz needs to step up his game, Irwan needs to step out of college and Rizal needs to step into a single seater drive again. Maybe Michelle Bumgartner from the Phillipines, again, needs to be more driver, less model. Ooohh Sarah Whatshername who tested Formula Renault a few months back…Karamjit Singh…Mathias Lauda, Piquet, mansell and Senna would be nice additions. Chepot also, y not?

Participantfrom Malaysia i’d love to see Fairuz Fauzy of coz. Other than that, I’d love to see Mika Hakkinen back again.

Yes. so would I.

ParticipantAlex Yoong….hhmm, I am not too sure about that. Talent wise, you can see from A1GP he is not the most talented driver out there. Otherwise he would be fighting for podium finishes every race, which he is not.
No doubt he is doing well, though he does have an upper hand in that he has driven more powerful machines than those A1GP cars. Most drivers would have come from lower formula cars so they will find the extra power hard to handble at first. Still, he is probably the best Malaysia has for the moment though I think you will find most of the City Karting kart team would beat him hands down in a 125cc kart! Jules, what do you think? I think even Uncle Jules can beat him in a 125cc kart race!!!!!

Memberhmmm… let me see if we can invite him to attend one of our races. and either race with the 100cc guys and / or race a demo 125cc with some of the sifoos.

Ask him to race against Wai Leong!!!! We saw him beat Raja Razman, but could be just a PR exercise for the PanGlobal thing :p

Well, I am not quite argee with you. I think that he is one of those most skilled. It is just that his car does not have the set up as optimal as Team France’s set-up. You see, Alex Yoong once said that Team France is supported by Kodak Engineering, an expert in GP2 series. The conclusion is that Team France has more expertise, more financial resources to do testing. Team Malaysia may lack in expertise and financial resources, so they can’t challenge for podium even that Alex Yoong is very experienced.
Hopefully, once Team Malaysia gain enough expertise and financial resources, we can see Alex standing on podium.

Did you see how Alex had to scramble down from the podium to get the Jalur Gemilang (seeing the other 2 drivers standing on the podium wrapped with their nation’s flag)?
Bet the M’sian team will have the flag on the ready from now on!12 February 2006 at 3:20 pm #2471sabelt
