Buka Puasa Endurance 2011

For the first time, we will have a race during the fasting month!

This will be a ONE HOUR endurance or survival race for some of us.

Key information on the event details:

date:     Saturday, 27 August 2011
time:     1700hours 
venu:     Citykarting, Shah Alam Stadium Kart Circuit

Race details:

2-stroke 80cc karts
up to 3 drivers max per team
RM300 per team / kart entry

Programme details:

1700-1730 - registration
1730-1745 - race briefing
1745-1800 - 10 minute qualifying
1800-1900 - ONE HOUR endurance race!
1900     - adjourn to nearby restaurant for buka puasa
 (eg. Homst, behind tesco)

Rule updates

1- Each driver must drive at least once.
2- Unlimited pitstops
3- Self kart selection
4- Fastest qualifier starts on pole position
5- Rolling start
6- No marshalls – but all are trusted to play by rules

Hi, Just some questions regarding this Endurance Race
How does it work?

RM 300 per team of up to 3 members?

meaning each team member gets about 20mins of racing each?

meaning there will be a pitstop for driver changes?

does the 10 mins qualifying eat into the 1 hour racing time?
or izzit the 10 mins of qualifying excluding the 1 hour of racing time?

are there lap timers on the karts to know wat sort of timing/per lap we are doing?

Am 50/50 on joining this race, so need some clarifications.

Oh yeah, wat happens wen it rains (touch wood)?
Does the race still continue under wet conditions?

Do we need to give a deposit of the kart rentals on top of the RM 300/kart /team?

  yes, each team will have transponders. but will need to strategise their own timings.

    Thanks for the speedy reply/answers, I hope I didnt bother u at this late hour.
    
    Was expecting a reply tomoro (saturday) morning.
    
    All the best in tomoro’s race and ‘Selamat berbuka puasa’ after the race and ‘Selamat Hari Raya’ in advance.
    
    My participation is still pending on whether I could get 2 of my frens to join, they reckon the price is too steep for 20 mins, normally we get 20 mins for RM70 from CK.
    
    Mayb will join karting again during the normal rounds for RM100 for the K3 class.
    Havn’t been karting in a while, quite rusty…

      the difference is that the endurance comes with transponders, lap times etc and staff running the timing system, not for the walk ins. which is why for the DRIVERS series we’ve kept cost low through volunteers, and manual lap charting.

3- Self kart selection
4- Fastest qualifier starts on pole position
