Requirement
===========
-4 drivers to a team
-minimum required per team total weight is 280kg (70kg per driver).
-There shall be no exception for a female driver in the team or
a team of all female drivers.
– Total weight divide by 4 with average no less than 70
-When Team mininum weight requirement is not met, weight ballast will be added.
note : every 1kg added to kart is equivalent to 1kg x 4drivers giving total of 4kg.
Formula will be: total weight / 4 = average weight + ballast weight >= 70
Example:
weight 290 / 4 = 72.5kg ~ no weight penalty
weight 280 / 4 = 70 kg ~ No weight penalty
weight 276 / 4 = 69 + 1kg ballast = 70
weight 268 / 4 = 67 + 3kg ballast = 70
weight 256 / 4 = 64 + 6kg ballast = 70
All team drivers will weigh-in with gears during morning registration. Weight ballast will be decided and add on before free run qualifying session.
Grid position will be based on fastest qualifying time accordingly.

Free run qualifying. No restriction of drivers change.Kart preparation and adjustment including kart change are allowed at this time frame.
The race
===============
-110 minutes race.
3 pitstop windows will be opened at every 20 minutes for 10 minutes each.
-Next pitstop window will open for 10 minutes at 20 minutes from previous close time
Example,
pitstop1 open 10:20 close 10:30
pitstop2 open 10:50 close 11:00
-All drivers are compulsory to drive at least one session of 20 minutes
-No driver change is allowed when pitstop window is closed unless due to emergency or special incidents (please post your question upon this incident)
-late (pitstop window closed)driver change will impose 2 laps penalty to the team unless emergency or special incident
-the team will be officially disqualified if there is any did-not-drive driver, unless due to emergency or special incident.
-no driver will be allowed to drive two (2) sessions consecutively. Should there an incident of a team driver not participating after qualifying with valid reason. Driver who has had taken one session will only allow driving again on third (3rd) session.
-Any team has more than one (1) member not participating after qualifying will automatically be classified as Did Not Race (DNR).
-Any team has more than one (1) member not participating during the race will automatically classified as Did Not Finish (DNF).
-Any driver drives more than 1 session without valid reason, the team will be disqualified. Team principle will be held responsible for reporting any not participating team members to race admin before or during the rece.
-in the event of a kart failure, driver will have to get spare kart back at pit/control, subject to spare kart availability.
-loss of transponder due to accident, the team will be officially disqualified as no lap time taken
-Petrol refuel is allowed at any pitstop window
NOTE: The team and its drivers will be entirely responsible to settle all damages or loss of transponders directly with the Track Operator. My-kart and the organiser will not be liable for any damages arising out of racing incidents deliberately or otherwise.

I asked about the fuel load system, whether it is the same as the F1 where the fuel load are brought forward to the starting grid from the qualifying. And the answer is NO.

Basically you will be decented 1 qualified grid position for every 5kg below minimum weight requirement. So for example.. you qualified for 1st place but you are 60kg below minimum weight requirement.. 60 / 5 = 12 means you will start from 12 grid.

-4 drivers to a team
-minimum required total weight for team is 280kg
-Team with female driver may subtract 10kg
-Decent 1 qualified grid position for every 5kg below minimum weight requirement.
Example
-a team with 3 male + 1 female driver will be 270kg
-a team of all female drivers will be 240kg

luen has been leading a restricted discussion (committee members for now) on the subject of weight rules, on this site. we need to refine this further, so will be subject to change. i will leave it to luen to explain… the inclination is towards weight ballasts as opposed to grid penalties.

Mark very kindly got me in the team. Only 1 race at Shah Alam so far but luckily it was counter-clockwise so will hopefully remember which direction to turn! I’m roughly 75kg so don’t think we’ll be the lightest team out there but should be a good laugh. Look forward to seeing you on the 1st.

The organiser need your cooperation to state your weight on this thread to have an idea of the variance.
Example : Non racing Weight = 68 kg (almost nude)
Racing weight = 68 + 3 kg = 71kg (this is the racing weight we need)
3 kg is for the racing suit, helmet, gloves and shoes.

bro its not just the weight to win but its depends on ur team strategy, how fast changing the driver, ur racing skill and of course the kart u get during the race. furthermore its not real weight yet, still hv 24 days to go n who knows might heavier during the event.

Ashraff – I met James Mitchell last night and he was serious about coming down for the Enduro. Also, he and Denis are thinking of bringing their Rotax Max karts to CK for practise after the Enduro, so perhaps our local 125 Wingers may want to show them the ropes?

…its really too crowded a race. There are rules and guidelines limiting the starting grid. Yep, as close as possible so long as wheel contact is avoided but its easier said than done sometimes.

that was a great clip. love the close racing. the accident was scary… i am suprised that the guy was pretty cool about it all after an accident that sliced his steering wheel off!

but i think that the driver was driving a little rough before the accident happened. he was very close about 3 or 4 turns before the incident. his front caught the back tyres on the straight.. bump the person in front of him to take the lead.. and just close the gap and leave no space for the kosmic guy to go but straight to his kart. so is this racing accident or basically the driver attitude?

Basically its an attitude of blind aggression which will likely infuriate fellow competitors to return the favour. This will eventually lead to racing incidents except when its pure unintentional contact. To win, be very aggressive but with controlled aggression!…..in my view.
How to control aggression?….observe the buayas on December 1. (community service).

I’m of the opinion that he did bump another guy earlier, but that was only because he was pushed from behind(see the clip again). Then kosmic probably tot he could dive on the inside of the slower kart…. Anyhow….. Nobody got injured badly…. It’s all part of kart racing….
Only way to be sure have barriers around the wheels.

In view of this challenge, i seek the support and encouragement of the My-kart committee and to the many members of my-kart with regard to entry fee.

Thank you for your support in placing me in a team. It is endearing to know that the close community of my-kart members is always out to support each other.
However, it was in jest that i stated that there would be no team for me. As i have thought about the idea of this iron-man challenge further and would like to pledge to all my-kart members that i am serious about this challenge with no ill feeling whatsoever 🙂
Having consulted Azlan on Friday Evening, i would like to take this one step further to propose to the committee the following:
1) THis challenge will be taken up be myself to drive the whole enduro on my own while abiding to the necessary rules etc for pitstops
2) To seek pledges from all my- kart members in support for this challenge in the form of monetary pledge to a charity decided by majority from my-kart members.
3) this pledge will inlcude the following;
a) no. of laps completed
b) position at end of race
c) placings
d) DNF etc..
e) no. of laps completed until i walk back (for you Mark!!)
4) I propose that the committee to administer this challenge and pledges in aid of transparency to all my-kart members
5) For the committee/city karting to consider “reduced”, “waived” entry fee and/or, wildcard entry; in the name of charity.
Guys, thanks again for trying to place me in teams and appreciate your support. But i feel that it is ideas and things like this that brings my-kart much needed publicity.
So please committee, allow this to happen and you never know, you just may see me walk home (as i’ve noticed i’ve not done that for a while!!)
Lets make this an added event for a good cause. Bring all your friends and family to support and pledge on race day.

To the organising team, volunteers, competitors (local and international), spectators, the CK crew, camera guys and gals, a very big thank you for making it a successful meeting….a fitting end to 2007 indeed! :up:

ALAMAK… I pun sama….. Well, went for lunch and did some house work, then slept for about 2hrs from 4-6pm…. But, I was definately bummed out…. VERY VERY VERY hot day! I think the 100 PLUSes saved me – THANKS Mark & TeleVAS!

well basically i just burn all the pictures in one cd. and then the video is in another dvd. so.. like it said last time.. its free at the moment.. unless you guys want to contribute. and all contribution will go into the fund of donation by the end of the year.
