Details of the event is as follows:
date: Saturday, 02 December 2006 time: 0800hours **don't be late venue: City Karting Circuit / 80cc
80cc kart: using City Karting’s 80cc 2-stroke karts.
fees: RM90/- for sprint event using 80cc kart
125cc kart : OWN kart or RENTAL kart
fees: RM330/- for 125cc private kart (preferably Rotax Max). (Price inclusive of 1 set of new Apexis 65 tyres + track fee, petrol with 50:1 ratio (for Rotax Max only, 16:1 for other makes) Silkolene 2T)
fees: RM500/- for 125cc rental kart. Negotiation is still being carried out to lower down the rental price.
***Note for 125cc participants :- “160 kg as minimum total weight for kart and driver, suit and helmet included”. Lead ballast will be added when necessary
ENDURANCE
fees: RM200/- per endurance team using 80cc kart for 60 minutes. No refund of the balance unutilised fee if the race is forced to stop after completing more than 60% due to Act of God. (eg. [IMG]http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l34/nohadv6/Icons/Rainy.gif[/IMG])
All the above rates are inclusive of LUNCH for all participants and prizes for the TOP 3 finishers.
Endurance race duration: 50 minutes race + 10 minutes practice
Sprint race : As per normal my-KART series. Details subject to change.
Agenda for the day is ;
0800 - 0830: team registration, weighing in & ballotting
0830 - 0845: Team & Driver Briefings
0900 - 1200: my-KART 80cc Grand Finale Sprint Race + 125cc Sprint Race
1200 - 1215: Break + Endurance kart balloting
1220 - 1230: my-KART Grand Finale Enduro practise
1240 - 1330: my-KART Grand Finale Enduro race
1340 - 1500: LUNCH + Prize giving
(inclusive of prizes for my-KART round series top 3 championship finishers)
Sprint race format will be as per my-KART normal series. Each 80cc kart driver will get to race in 2 Qualifying heats (8 laps each) and 1 Final (8 laps).
125cc will race in 2 Qualifying heats (10 laps each) and 1 Final (12 laps).
For ENDURANCE race,
Each team will need to ensure that the karts are ballotted and setup properly before the race.
Each team will need to do the following:
1) form a team compromising of of 2 drivers
driver weights: male, an average of 67.5kgs per driver and female, an average of 55kgs per driver (eg. if team has 2 male drivers, total minimum weight must be 67.5×2 = 135kgs… if team has 1 male and 1 female, then minimum weight must be 67.5 + 55 = 122.5kgs)
2) 1 MANDATORY pitstop.

We have currently arranged for an endurance race for a team of 4 for 100 minutes of endurance race.
Should most of the folks prefer a team of 3, we will shortened the endurance race to 75 minutes with 15 minutes practise. (total = 90 minutes). The fee will be RM300/- per team.

I recommend 2 drivers to a team of 60 minutes race with 2 mondatory and max 4 pit stops. How about that?

I agree with you Luen, hence more team can participate. 4 drives to much la. 2 drivers f0r 1 hour with minimum 2 stints from each driver. exellent. with a minimum weight of 130kg for 2 drivers.

from my observation from previous endurance (1 hour 20mins or 80mins) that i’ve participated, we dont need a refuelling in 80cc karts.

Lesson learnt from MLF endurance, some karts could not be fueled to the brim. Our kart in MLF race could only be fueled up to 1/2 tank max before petrol start leaking out from the side.
For fairness to all, all karts in the coming endurance race will be fueled 1/2 tank only.

We will apply 2 drivers to a team if there are insufficient participants. We could accomodate up to 16 karts.
Please take note that we have revised the drivers per team to 3.

Usually, they will try to repair it in time for the remaining races. However, we will request CTkarting to prepare a few standby karts. Will reconfirm this matter ST.

Patrick, I have counted 8 drivers on rented karts to date right?. Need to update AP on the sudden increase! As of yesterday, AP can only supply 5 Max senior karts…..unless we all agree to allow other 125cc engines like ROK and Parilla to run together, in which case it will be call a Formula 125 Open race! as oppose to a one make 125Max senior race. I hope most will agree with the Formula open, than we can have quite a crowd!. So guys, lets hear your say on this.

It’s OK with me. I don’t even mind if AP gives me a Rotax junior. Even Fikizul is on junior.
I’m there for the fun of racing in 125cc with good handling.

Folks,
Some 125 Testing Update:
We proceed to CTKarting after the Enduro at Elite. Ramsey, Patrick, Jules, Tarmizi and Luen were present to witness the testing by Naza and YY.
Four Max senior karts were made available to choose from. After some prelim checks led by chief mechanic Ah Boon, Naza and YY each made a few laps around the track amid threatening dark clouds. Jules also did a few laps testing a Max senior kart presumably belonging to a friend.
Testing was stopped when rain started and ended any hopes of completing the testing sesion. However, there was enough feedback given by Naza and YY to AB on their respective karts for the next test session schedule on Tuesday 21st. That done, Naza and YY paid their RM100 deposit to CTkarting as booking and part payment for their karts. It was a Swiss Hutless and MW for YY and Naza respectively.
Azlan and Shaeran were not able join us in the testing but will do so on their own arrangement with CTkarting later in the week. Folks, please contact AP or Wah Shin or Ah Boon for testing arrangements.

Folks, some important reminders to ensure quick turnaround time for our race event:
1. If you are driving your own kart, its your responsibility to contact CK (Ah Boon or Kok Seng) and request them to fit your drive with Apexi tyres (or be disqualified if others are used). Fit these tyres latest by Friday 1st please.
2. All drivers must declare their weight (body + full race gear) by Thursday 30th so that AB or KS can fix ballast on your karts (if necessary) such that driver + kart will not be less than 165 kg. The first 5 finishers for each race will be weighed immediately and will face disqualification if found less than 165 kg (less fuel – only for mykart event). Please register your total weight in the list above.

It is CONFIRMED now that the endurance will run with 2 DRIVERS per TEAM.
It is RM200/- per team and teams will be allocated with 10 minutes practise & 50 minutes race.
Every team must carry out 1 MANDATORY pitstop. Pitstop window will open after 15 minutes of race and will remain open until 10 minutes to the end of the race.
Teams may carry out as many pitstop to change driver as they want besides the mandatory pitstop.
Minimum weight per team is 135kg.

the webserver harddrive crashed yesterday evening. i contacted the host support and was told that the engineers were working to bring it back up. i think the posts that could have been lost were ones before any backup. hope things are ok now.

1. If you are driving your own kart, its your responsibility to contact CK (Ah Boon or Kok Seng) and request them to fit your drive with Apexi tyres (or be disqualified if others are used). Fit these tyres latest by Friday 1st please.
2. All drivers must declare their weight (body + full race gear) by Thursday 30th so that AB or KS can fix ballast on your karts (if necessary) such that driver + kart will not be less than 165 kg. The first 5 finishers for each race will be weighed immediately and will face disqualification if found less than 165 kg (less fuel – only for mykart event). Please register your total weight in the list above.

just wanna ask u guys another question, this apexis tire is what compound? hard or medium? if the open class is a open class, meaning, can i use my own tire.. maximum requirement, medium compound… coz i would say, its a little dangerous to drive a 125 with a hard compund… but again u all expert driver … should be able to handle.. hehehe

Naza and YY tested their karts today as followup to last week’s feedback. Ashraff did his testing on a CRG chassis. As it turned out we missed Azlan who came a liitle later just in time to greet the rain.
1. MW / Rotax 125 – tested by Naza- RM100 paid on 18. Nov.06
2. Swiss Hutless / Rotax 125 – tested by YY – RM 100 paid on 18.Nov.06
3. CRG / Rotax 125 – tested by Ashraff – RM100 paid on 25th Nov 06
4. CRG / Rotax 125 – ready for testing – no takers yet (Shaeran/Patrick/Yusnee/ST?)
5. Arrow /Rotax 125 – not tested but reserved for S. Azlan
6. kart no. 6 / Sonik 125 – can be made available on request

125cc kart : OWN kart or RENTAL kart
fees: RM330/- for 125cc private kart (preferably Rotax Max). (Price inclusive of 1 set of new Apexis 65 tyres + track fee, petrol with 50:1 ratio (for Rotax Max only, 16:1 for other makes) Silkolen 2T)
fees: RM500/- for 125cc rental kart. Negotiation is still being carried out to lower down the rental price.
If more people renting the 125cc karts, we should be able to get a better rate. (No promises though)
If you are confirmed joining the race, the seat adjustment & kart testing is this saturday after our rd6 endurance (if no rain) or sunday noon if saturday testing is abandon.

…..Wow Patrick!, appears that interested drivers for the 125 sprint event have passed the 8 minimum that was hoped for. Very good, hopefully some more will try the 125cc category but time is running out. We need to see CTkarting to knock the rental price down and finalise kart prep details latest by this Thursday afternoon (hope you will be in KL by than). We have to target seat fitting and testing on Saturday after our Endurance and possibly into Sunday noon if necessary. The following weekened is reserved for our throats to go hoarse at Sepang mah!

also i was just thinking – would a K4 series be suitable for absolute novices? i note that many clubs are keen of organising karting events, but the members would like to be racing amongst friends and not so competitive.
