Round 06, KART 2007 series

2007 will be the 5th season for my-KART’s KART series. The 2007 season will build on the success of the previous 4 seasons with the possible addition of the K1 series.

Will we see yet another photo finish to the K2 and K3 series in 2007? Competition is expected to be tougher and tougher as drivers gain more experience in the series.

Details of the event is as follows:

date:     Saturday, 02 December 2006

venue:    City Karting Circuit / 80cc

80cc kart: using City Karting’s 80cc 2-stroke karts.
fees: RM90/- for sprint event using 80cc kart

125cc kart : OWN kart or RENTAL kart
fees: RM330/- for 125cc private kart (preferably Rotax Max). (Price inclusive of 1 set of new Apexis 65 tyres + track fee, petrol with 50:1 ratio (for Rotax Max only, 16:1 for other makes) Silkolene 2T)
fees: RM500/- for 125cc rental kart. Negotiation is still being carried out to lower down the rental price.

fees: RM90/- for sprint event using 80cc kart

ENDURANCE

All the above rates are inclusive of LUNCH for all participants and prizes for the TOP 3 finishers.

Endurance race duration: 50 minutes race + 10 minutes practice
Sprint race : As per normal my-KART series. Details subject to change.

Agenda for the day is ;

0800 - 0830: team registration, weighing in & ballotting
0830 - 0845: Team & Driver Briefings
0900 - 1200: my-KART 80cc Grand Finale Sprint Race + 125cc Sprint Race
1200 - 1215: Break + Endurance kart balloting
1220 - 1230: my-KART Grand Finale Enduro practise
1240 - 1330: my-KART Grand Finale Enduro race
1340 - 1500: LUNCH + Prize giving  
             (inclusive of prizes for my-KART round series top 3 championship finishers)

Sprint race format will be as per my-KART normal series. Each 80cc kart driver will get to race in 2 Qualifying heats (8 laps each) and 1 Final (8 laps).

125cc will race in 2 Qualifying heats (10 laps each) and 1 Final (12 laps).

For ENDURANCE race,
Each team will need to ensure that the karts are ballotted and setup properly before the race.

Each team will need to do the following:
1) form a team compromising of of 2 drivers

driver weights: male, an average of 67.5kgs per driver and female, an average of 55kgs per driver (eg. if team has 2 male drivers, total minimum weight must be 67.5×2 = 135kgs… if team has 1 male and 1 female, then minimum weight must be 67.5 + 55 = 122.5kgs)

2) 1 MANDATORY pitstop.

Expect some close racing throughout the year as many of the drivers from continue to improve their performance and gain vital time on the regulars.
