my-KART Mega Endurance Race 2, 2005

event postponed to Saturday 4th June!

The first myKART Mega Endurance event organised by Steward on 8 Jan 2005 was a huge success. This was followed up by the Zero To Hundred website enduro a week later which was similarly well supported.

Due to the strong response, myKART is planning to have a quarterly Mega Enduro event which will allow teams and drivers to be crowned as 2005 enduro champion.

Details of MME Round 2 is as follows:
date: Saturday, 4 June 2005
time: 0730hours **don’t be late, wake up at 6:30am
venu: Citykarting, Shah Alam Stadium Kart Circuit (COUNTER Clockwise)
Each team will need to do the following:

form a team

nominate team principal and assistant principal

the team principals are both not allowed to change teams – we should avoid a proliferation of teams in the enduro championship

the team will score points only if one or both of the principals are participating

the team principals shall select the drivers (4 drivers total including principals)

driver weights: male, an average of 70kgs per driver and female, an average of 60kgs per driver (eg. if team has 4 male drivers, total minimum weight must be 70×4 = 280kgs… if team has 3 male and 1 female, then minimum weight must be 70×3 + 60 = 270kgs)
Further details of preferred formats are being worked out together with the associated rules. Please tune in this website regularly for updates.

1st myKART Foundation Conference

Team,

My open invitation dated 25 March and various other discussions on the myKART forum are referred.

Malaysia aspires to be the regional motorsports hub. She seeks talent to shine at the top levels but the gene pool is not ready. This is the gap that myKART’s is well placed to fill. myKART aims to popularise grassroots motorsports by supporting talent right through the value chain from amateurs to world class pros.

myKART will be the funnel for managing circuit racing talent and all the by products of these activities.

myKART coaching session – CANCELLED

UPDATE 26 August 2005: The coaching session has to be cancelled. This date will be reserved for the 3rd myKART Mega Enduro.

This is a tentative booking of a coaching session for myKART members.

This follows the successful coaching session with Wai Leong at the beginning of 2004. In that first ever myKART coaching session, 20 myKARTers turned up for 4 separate sessions.

This year, a decision will need to be made in relation to whether the “syllabus” should cater for novice or expert amateur karters. We may even end up with both. However, more details needs to be worked out in relation to this.

Round 1, KART 2005 series

The 2005 KART season will start in earnest on the Saturday, 5th of January 2005.

What will the 2005 season be like? Certainly we shall see some close racing throughout the year as many of the drivers from 2004 continue to improve their performance and start to worry the regulars.

Some drivers from the K3 category will be eligible to “graduate” to the K2 category which will make the K2 category even tougher… whilst expect to see new faces and talent coming through in K3.

2004 K2 champion, Fazz Rahman will face a tough challenge from always quick Hafidz Fahro Rozi, Brian Eravelly and others as well as needing to keep an eye out on the 2004 K3 champion, Kevin Tan.

So are you game?
