The KART series moves into the 4th season in 2006 and continues with seasoned myKARTers battling out with new challengers and old hands alike in order to claim top honours… and hence, bragging rights as THE BEST AMATEUR KARTER in the Klang Valley *grin*.
Expect some close racing throughout the year as many of the drivers from continue to improve their performance and gain vital time on the regulars.

I thot moving up to K2 is not by self promotion, but upon invitation from the powers that be..? i.e. after they hv certified/verified that you hv done due diligence in K3 & that you hv proven yrself to be competent (and safe) enough to be in K2.
I personally think the top 5 finishers in K3 should be ‘promoted’ to K2, anyone outside is at the discretion of the ‘seniors’ in K2.

I know it has been a long time since I raced ….and hope to get back in the game some day but family commitments have kept me away.
Anyways just to let you guys know I got few of my colleagues here at Bursa who are keen to try at Karting and was wondering how to go about it. I have told them about My-Kart Group and what you guys do and they seem keen… I will confirm on the numbers interested and let you guys know.
But before I sign off could I check… is My-Kart still open to new drivers? And are we looking at a change in fee for 2006?

The mean of the my-KART drivers (the weights of whom I have in my records) is 70.5kg. So that is the cutoff.

the cut off is 70kgs and I weighed in at 71kg during the IC3 (incl racing gear). No worries bro, I’ll take the challenge and race in the L category. Btw, K2L is now K2-45 and K2H is now K2-70.
In terms of points – there is no difference to what is practiced now, but the positioning will allow us to identify who is in th 45 and 70 categories. So we should have an overall K2 (and K3) winner, as well as a 45 winner and 70 winner.

I find it a bit odd that as a K2 rookie,I’m seeded higher than the likes of Brian,Naza,Azlan,Azlee,Steward etc whom can all be considered K2 veterans,and have actually scored points (in K2) last season.

you are correct. the seeding is based on 2005 rank. however for promotees, they will be unseeded for the K2 season start. I have corrected this offline, but have not yet updated the entry list on this thread.

btw, you don’t get free durians (durian runtuh) on every round. So that’s why you need to participate in as many rounds as possible to improve your skill & experience till you don’t need the free durians. Cabuuutttt!!!!!

Thats exactly the point; overcome some of the fear and you will be plesantly surprise with the extra speed and fearlessness…cos mental preparation is also very important…hehehe. Look closely at the sifu’s , the next time we race, they spend a few seconds meditating.

btw, you don’t get free durians (durian runtuh) on every round. So that’s why you need to participate in as many rounds as possible to improve your skill & experience till you don’t need the free durians. Cabuuutttt!!!!![/quote]
Thank you my friend. That’s why need a sifu to teach me the rope especially the turning. Always failed there and people start to overtake me during turning.

Ye ke nie? No wonder in the second lap of round 10 when I didn’t brake at the corners I manage to slightly speed. Hmm see the next race what technique to use. 🙂

damn takut the chain fly-off… but in racing, fear means slow lap times :p . hhahaha

in K3..i learned that a smooth drive & a good line is very important..as to not lose valuable speed in the entry of a turn..the curb in CityKarting is too high & i’d avoid them if possible…(actually i always miss them in the apex cos always mess up my braking points!! ahak ahak ahak)

Very true about the curbs at CK being too high. The curbs at Elite track is very nice to ride on especially at turn 2 before going down the downhill section.

cant remember how the elite kerb feels like already.. so long never go play there already.
some kerbs at CK not too bad la, after so many ppl grind over it, the kerb also shorter already ..ahha
