1. One of the problem is that I can’t found any reference point at the track. At other track for example, we can use pole, marshal post as reference point for braking and turning. At Shah Alam track, we can’t see any of these. So, how do you all find your reference points?
Just need to spend a little more time running at the track and you will get familiar with the refernce points.

2. One of karts I was using is quite “bumpy”. It was moving up and down and it tends to move away from the apex. My worst timing on this kart is 1m 35s and my best is 1m 30s. Guess that if I do come for my-kart race, i have a lot of work to do to improve my driving.
Just luck, some of the karts are kind of crap but what to do, those are rental karts.
As mentioned earlier, practise makes perfect. Your time will start to improve when you have more kilometers under your belt.
3. Nohad told me my-kart races use rolling start and the races alternate from clockwise and anticlockwise track. Is there anymore details I should know?
I believe rolling start is fairer to all as some of the karts have no pick-up at all and starnding start is a disadvantage to heavy drivers like me too.
But the drivers need to be a little bit more discipline in rolling start in order to stay in their starting position and keep pace with the leading cars before the start.25 June 2006 at 10:29 am #2819TheFazz

alvin – i suggest you look for small markers such as the kerbs, bumps / tyre marks on the track etc. use these markers as relative reference points. you may go on basis of 10m before or after a particular bump on the track.
once again. practice.
4. Do you know any budget accomodation maybe near Puduraya or Shah Alam Track?
not sure. perhaps someone else can help. but btw, how often do you plan to be in the klang valley? are you moving down? what is your occupation right now?

ParticipantI will be going to Shah Alam track for K3 race. Then after the race, I will go back to Taiping, Perak. I am now an USM engineering student and currently still on holiday. I am now still staying at Taiping.

Kindly define clearly your meaning of “clean”!
Cleanliness?
Hantu?
Oldest trade in the world?
People who goes there are not clean?

ParticipantCome on, guys. I don’t mind spending a little more money to get a place that is not haunted. As long as the price is affordable.
