ParticipantI will like the K2 to remain as it a step ahead for K3 drivers before going to K1.

Participanti think that to abolish K2 would be a very bad idea as it may scare people that want to move up but not straight to K1 to get some dedicated karts for K2 i think is a very good idea because initially that was what put me off even wanting to go up, since i had had some experience with the K2 rental karts and how bad they were my view was that they were just too unreliable but my need to go faster has since out ranked that view and i cant wait to try out the K2

Participantit wiil be better to run 1 and 2.
Given participants of choices to run exclusive and normal rental karts.

ParticipantKeep the K2 series, it is a stepping stone into K1.
To pay a small higher fee to have a better “exclusive” kart to race is much more satisfying rather than grumbling about the poor state of the current K2 karts after the race, where you will get frustrated and the passion in K2 karting might be killed.
The bad condition of the current K2 karts is not a surprised, the karts are basically used for the daily rental and you should see how the karts are being thrashed in many of the inexperience hands.

I agree with Luen. Can we run 1 & 2 at the same time?26 August 2008 at 4:38 am #7488FAibS
Participantim fine with that but is that enough time to get every1 together?

ParticipantI’m all for the exclusive K2 kart idea to bring in some consistency and closer racing. Current K2 format is still great but tends to have a somewhat predictable final because you know which karts are the performers and which are the donkeys based on the qualifiers.
Best wishes
Chris

Memberlet me provide a bit more background to this dilemma.
we know that the current K2 karts are a bit dodgy. hence, the thought of establishing K2 exclusive (a la K1).
however, in order for the K2 exclusive to work we need to have sufficient confirmed participants: ~30 pax to ensure 20 per round. given the current smallish pool of K2 drivers today (and many desiring to move to K1), we may end up with a small number for K2 exclusive, and therefore rendering the series a non-starter. hence, the reason for this discussion thread – and the options listed above.
option 1 – may be possible if many of the current K2 remain in K2 exclusive, and sufficient K3 upgraders to K2 exclusive despite the higher cost
option 2 – if many K2 upgrades to K1, and insufficient K3 upgrades to K2 exclusive (due to cost), we will then need to maintain the current public rental karts for K2… but could result in depletion in participation numbers over the long term due to kart conditions… making option 3 inevitable
option 3 – if many K2 drivers wish upgrading to K1, and insufficient K3 drivers wish to upgrade to K2 exclusive / non-exclusive because of higher cost / poor karts, respectively… then we may need to abolish K2.
happy to read more comments, and thoughts here. please let’s debate this thoroughly.

Participanti dont mind remaining at K2 exclusive just to make the quota. anyway, all i want is close racing, not one here and the other one there..
