Participantinteresting read and my opinion.
Racing in K1 dun necessary mean its more fun….cos you can have fun even in k3.
K2 is an important step to K1 as it teaches you throttle finesse and driving lines – scrap it and you will see many more expensive crashes in K1.
The main attraction for K1 is kart consistency…..not necessary cos its faster than K2.
If the consistency is extended to K2, that would be excellent.
Of course, to make it better – weights should be added as ballast.
In regards to payment – I chuckle at faibs way of measuring cc/dollar but in end – its hard to pinpoint a value for FUN. Radio control car smaller engined but also fun mah…
Simply said – if K2 is exclusive and have weights, I will also join a few selected rounds…..just to share the fun.

Participantjules i think u kinda misunderstood my post.. as i said i agree with all points posted here. i dont even mind paying more but i just think the CURRENT pricing structure provided by ck is a lil funny! i never pointed it as a value for fun.. any kart u give me i would still have fun in it 😛 i was looking at value from the karts itself! i would have thought maintenance and cost of the karts on 125cc is higher.. therefore just wonderng how they can cost so similar to 125s and how can the normal 100cc can be priced so high.. i provided those points in hopes that it maybe useful for us to push for a better pricing structre thats all :S but after careful consideration.. on the proposed 100cc, i think maintenance on 100cc is more cause its aircooled.. hence the high per cc cost??

[/quote]Faibs,
There is NOTHING to misunderstand as I did not say so. If you ask me, its novel attempt to understand the pricing idea but knowing CK and AP well enough, I wun bother to cos he plucks figures from the air and only he himself knows it all.
As you correctly said it, why is the air cooled engine charged more expensive than the Junior Max if we used your formula? The answer COULD lie to the fact that your formula does not consider the number Junior Max engines and spares AP has or can get compared to the PRD which is a sole CK venture, hence he has no choice other than to buy it from PRD Taiwan.
And no, the water cooled Max engine is more expensive to mantain and repair when it goes bang….compared to the 100cc PRD engine.
Go figure on then.
