MemberI’ve not tried the new 4-strokers, but was informed by Citykarting a few weeks back that they were introducing the 4 stroke funkarts for newbies. I think the price is good. Not sure how the kart is like though. Appreciate some feedback. Was also wondering if a ladies or REAL rookies KART series on funkarts would be feasible?

ParticipantThese karts are ex-Mofaz and introduced to let everyone ( even those with less budget ) have a go….naturally, they will not be faster than the 80cc.
Not driven yet but expect them to be a bit faster here on a track with long straights as compared to other tracks in the Klang Valley…wink, wink.
There’s also one for the Juniors…..with a 4hp MITSUBISHI engine…..not a Evo variant though! he he!

Fazz, I passed by Mofaz Elite daily to and fro work and is really sad and pathetic. 100 cc karts are gone and so are most of the mechanics that we knew. I still see a few fun karts but certainly no longer any corporate events being held for the last 4 months at least. The scene is definitely the opposite of the Shah Alam circuit. Its sad for me and Tarmizi because that was where we started our early karting days being closest to our residence. My-Kart club should buy the track lah! Well someday perhaps…..sayang..

Last year the track was already up for sale / takeover. City Karting was offered too. Since Fairuz left karting to do F3/F3000, seems that Mofaz not keen on karting anymore.

[/quote]Heard about that too. But sayang as Naza says. It is quite an interesting track especially on the 100cc.

Participantone great track in my opinion… kerbs are gentle, nice drop in gradient, and the odd last corner. best part is the nice lap timing system. citykarting can probably buy that equipment and install for this saturdays race!!
i doubt i’ll enjoy 4S karts on citykarting, as the 2 long straights will take an eternity to complete. didnt see what engine they are using though, 9hp or 6.5hp hondas?

yupp…sayang…that’s where I had my first drive on the karts…the funkarts naturally..heheh..
nice track overall..my fav corner was the hairpin down the hill after a long right gentle curve…haha..remembered a fren actually went up the small hill when he overcooked the turn…got stuck there for a while…but having a birds eye view of the rest of us leaving him behind…lol..8 February 2005 at 2:32 pm #1585TheFazz

Any news on who’s buying the Elite track?

ParticipantI would expect the new owner/operator of the Elite track to consider among other things spectator accomodation and what can be seen from the Grand Stand. The stand is ok but spectators can only see the start, the first cornor and thats about it. This I thought is a big minus compared to City Karting and Extreme Park tracks where spectataors can view almost the entire track and therefore have maximum fun. Renovating the stand to improve viewing for spectators is a must to attract them. Can be done but would cost a bunch…and haven’t heard of the next owner / operator yet.

ParticipantFazz, no idea on the track buying bit…..not heard it from CityKarting myself.
Track’s okay and I do rate it to be a bit dangerous…..a Turn 2 or 3 ( the fast rite BuMpY loop )are places where huge accidents are waiting to happen…and even Turn 4 where my pal went “superman” one year racing a 125….the last corner “too tight” is a bit a joke….ALL IMHO okie.
The facilities & location are top notch though. Only small complaint is the entry via PLUS.
Heck, this is the wrong thread to talk abt this but is MyKart buying a track soon ah? hint hint!!

MemberJules – wrong thread indeed! ha ha.
if myKART can get a wealthy patron to support us then we may consider basing our club at that track (with a few modifications)… *grin*
