Yes, it was an exciting race and for Malaysia – Alex did well in the sprint race. Was hoping that the German driver be penalised for passing under yellow since he passed Alex just in front of Vertsappen’s limping car……sadly, no penalty.
In the feature race, alex had a wonderful start from 6th and jumped to 2nd. sadly, he could not hold on and his later mistake of braking too late, dropped him to 6th.
A bad pitstop and later a drive thru penalty ( dunno why ) sealed his efforts to the 16th placing.
To my opinion, A1 has a lot to improve BUT also a lot of POTENTIAL to offer. I am sure it will have many more fans and the formula will generate support from sponsors and countries as well. Hopefully our very yellow Malaysian car will find more sponsors since the car looked very void of any logos……
Last of all, the other Indian driver – Ermann Ibrahim is a product of City Karting & having a rich/motorsports backed father helps too!

Alex did very well in such a competitive race both in the sprint and the feature. However, our “Malaysia Boleh” pitstop team and engineers need to very quickly learn and close the gap against he Europeans. For a very close race like the A1GP where the cars are spec’ed the same,that pitstop was just toooo….loonnnnggg la! and had cause Alex to go almost to the the very back…….unless he had Kimi’s car to catch up! That tyre changing man or girl had better improve and the same goes for the set up guys too. Alex seem to be steadily getting better in that car…..but have to see how Fairuz will fare in the upcoming races… if and when he does.
Now this is going to screw up our A1GP qualifying and my-KART annual dinner!
Pitpass is reporting that the Malaysian round of the A1GP on 18-20 November will be held at night!
Now… obviously this is tailored to gain European TV audience by having the race at 1300hrs GMT. But for us, Monday morning is going to be a write off.
However, instead of going to the track for qualifying, perhaps we could watch it on big screen TV at the Annual Dinner?

please, not on a Sunday night… aiyooo.
from safety point of view – I dun think nite racing is a good idea…..a bit surprised that A1 takes this approach just for TV rights cos if F1 is already doing it at a sane hour locally and the TV just have to follow suit….
I cannot imagine many tracks have sufficient nite lighting…….ie. Sepang or even Sentul ( Indonesia ).
Let’s wait & see.
