But there was 1 particular kart which seem to have the performance edge over the other karts. So immediately after the event, I took the kart and went for my 10 min drive…
ParticipantMy Team mate for the CK Night Time Endurance lottery clocked a 1,11.92 last Thursday.
I was bashed repeatedly by some young whipper snapper trying to take the lead. He eventually slid into the right position to hook his front wheel in front of my rear and my kart flipped breaking the steering … we could have won, after the last 3 attempts, having a kart that wouldn’t do better than 1.17.
Anyway, my team mate is some what of a feather weight and we had 5kg ballast, so around 65kg. The kart wasn’t particularly fast on the straights but handled very well. It hadn’t rained for weeks so the track probably had more grip than average, and the tyres won’t have been overheating as theres no sun.
I’ve always aimed for a 1.13 in a reasonable kart. If you get lots of practice and the ‘perfect kart’, the times will get better.
Can’t recall what’s the number but that doesn’t really matter cos it’s a few months back and they do swap the numbers around… However, it was a blue kart which looks relatively newer than the rest…
After my 10 min run, they kept that kart immediately after I came in.. haha..

ParticipantGuess what? Due to my weight..I actually don’t have to brake, not even turn 7 and 10, just a quick lift will do, unless I have a super fast 80cc
