ParticipantThis is just another spoilt British fella poking fun at an Far Eastern product cos he is really upset that the “cheapest car in the world” did passed all the homologation requirements of his country and has found many homes in the UK!…another example of his antics and dramatics to maintain interest in Top Gear for the unwary!

Membernaturally not so funny for the people how worked and toiled to make this happen, but significantly enough it raises a very fundamental question about the future of our automobile industry:
- should we become an assembler industry, and hence focus on cheap and affordable vehicles?
- should we focus on real development and competency building and hence maybe become a niche player?
the next question is are we ready to choose one or the other? i think we had a confused industry to start with. the national car project was to the public about creating affordable cars. but amongst the policy makers (then) it was about developing competencies. somewhere along the way the first option became more and more pressing. and looking at proton – it would seem that the choice #1 is the one being looked at.
hence, the quality of our cars will largely depend on our partners, and how much we are willing to cede management control.

[/quote]of course i was joking… but the people behind the making of the car should really be watching this. and i really cant agree more with the person saying that “its a corporation that only wants to make money” at the beginning of the video.
