guys,

Not sure if it matters but here’s my comment after a run in the kart last Sat.

-requires some seat time to familiarise.

cheers,
jules
Yes i concur that. Most of our karters familiar with K2 due to rental availability. If we could arrange with CK to get selected K1 candidates to have more track time for familirisation.

the most important concern of all is the running price & participations in k1 series.

– the kart set up was….none. Due to the power delivery of the Junior Max engine, your kart will snap into oversteer easily mid corner esp with these tyres. So best to have more grip at rear.

– yes, ballast is needed for this class cos otherwise, dun bother cos you wun get a equal racing anymore.

cheers,
jules
Yes, everybody who had tested it experienced the oversteer situation and for this class, we will use ballast.

2. Selection of Drivers
2.1 Current K2 and K1 categorised drivers can qualify automatically
2.2 K3 drivers or others will need to satisfy my-kart committee / senior drivers
2.3 A my-kart committee to approve eligible drivers should formalised asap.

Please discuss.

eligibility – i would like to keep to paid members… not to be elitist, but will need some form of differentiation for those who have paid their dues. this is supposed to be a deal that should attract more paying members.

driver selection – agree with your suggestion on K2 and K1 eligibility and selection panel.
I concur with the above, and wish to highlight the following points:

– Eligibility -> Full paid up members only. However, I note that if we start in Jan 2008, it is technically within the 2007 membership period. No problem -> as discussed previously (and I still owe the minutes of meeting..sorry!), new members just pay the balance of 2007 immediately if they wish to race on Dec 1 or Jan-08, and that gives them 2007/08 membership until end Mar 2008, and for the 2008/09 period, have to pay that before 31-Mar.

– Class of karters – Senior or whatever the highest one was called – subject to Membership committee’s approval

– Invitiational – There may be times when experienced karters want to join a race -> I propose this can be with the committee’s approval if one off, and if long term,. they should be members and given the highest experience status subject to committee. Eg, what if Ede wanted to join our race, for example….or other experienced karters from overseas, etc..

Ok,…gotta go 4 a meeting! will add more thoughts later.

Folks,
The club’s paid members eligible for the CRG 125 / K1 race is as below:

K1 – 14 drivers (including Patrick and Afiq Ikhwan)

K2 – 7 drivers (including Jason and Razmyn)

The rest are in the K3 and K4 group.

So we have theoretically about 17 drivers in k1 and k2 who can potentially have the competence to drive the 125 regularly. However, thru past records only the following can be expected to sign up for races regularly marked “yes” imo:

1. Zul – yes
2. Luen – yes
3. Fazz – yes
4. Azlan – yes
5. Naza – yes
6. Tarmizi – yes
7. Patrick – no (overseas)
8. Yusnee – yes
9. Bombe – maybe
10. Mumu – yes
11. Afiq Ikhwan – maybe – (AAM licensing issue)
12. Razmyn – once in a blue moon (overseas)
13. Wei Li – maybe
14. Azmee – maybe
15. Ashraff – yes
16. Mark -yes
17. Raymond – maybe
18. Edy – maybe
19. Yip Yen – maybe
20. Isk M7 – yes
21. Jason – maybe (Singapore)

So, only 11 drivers or there abouts plus maybe a few more k3 buayas upgraded next year.

Question : Will k2 pool be severely depleted?

…very simple really, let us observe you handle the 100cc on any chicken wings session. Tell us when you are ready Emmy.

There is no formal selection or approval committee just yet but in the past we just need at least 2 or 3 senior karters in the k2 and k1 category to vouch (sokong) for driver’s competency.

Having said that, the the top 10 (or was it 15 Fazz?) k3 points finishers are automatically invited to join the k2 series 2008.

…welcome ladies!….abang zul, watch out! 🙂

your podium finish already earn you a K2 seat. Just more K2 on the chicken wings session, you will definately have my vote 😀

Anyway NAza, have AP revealed the $$$ charge for normal CRG session instead of our series?

Folks,

Suggestion for a my-kart committee to approve upgrading of drivers’ category (k4 to k3 or k3 to k2 / k1) .

Essentially, the committee (for now called My-kart Selection Committee), is a panel of three drivers within the k2 and k1 group comprising as follows:

Lead Assessor : any my-kart committee member (k1/k2)
Assistant Assessor 1: any k2 / k1 driver (may not be a member)
Assistant Assessor 2: – ditto –

The committee above will subsequently report to the my-kart main committee on its decision.

The committee above can still function in the event if only one assistant is available at the time of assessment.

Assessment of drivers may be done during any chicken wings session.

Luen / Folks, just to record key points of discussion with AP this afternoon before we forget (speaking for myself):

Attendees : Fazz, Luen, Edwyn, Mumu, Naza.(Mumu and Edwyn left midway)
Date : Dec 1st 2007
Venue: CK’s office
Time : 3.00 pm approx.
Subject : Finalisation of CRG/125 JMax prices for my-kart / my-kart members.

Point 1 : my-kart sprint races; RM 180.00 (based on my-kart race format)
Note: current k2/100cc charge is RM160 (for members), so maybe charge RM190.00 for the k1/CRG/125 category…?

Point 2 : my-kart enduro : RM 700 – 800 for 2 hours track time…….someone please confirm this..!I believe we may want to propose CK to charge as for previous 100cc enduro?

Point 3 : my-kart members practice sessions, RM RM 400.00 for 5 session voucher. RM 90.00 per session for walk-in (no voucher).
Note: AP proposed that for practices, 125 Senior Max to be use as well. My-kart has no objections to this.

AP requested for my-kart (Luen?) to write to wan shin an email to record what was agreed above. (Selamat Pengantin Baru to Wan Shin /Ah Cheong!..)

RM190/- is a steal! NO objection.

RM700-800 is for the 125cc? If it is, fair enough for me.

A bit stiff on the long run but if you want better quality product, it doesn’t come cheap.

(alternative is to buy your own kart ^^ ;))
