ParticipantYeah even I have to turn up the volume when Kimi speaks – his voice in Finnish is a bit odd as well. Wait for Kovalainen to get into the press conference – he’ll be very much unlike Kimi.

the starsport telecast is a bit delayed for some reason …

And has been for at least a decade. I don’t know the reason but I think all live shows on satellite channels (not local free-to-air) are delayed by a few minutes – maybe to do with being able to censor out unwanted material if need be?19 March 2007 at 3:22 pm #4512sabelt

[/quote]Delayed by few minutes means cheaper slot to reduce the cost. Its normal for satelite company to buy 30sec-5mins delayed. Thats how they gain profits.

And…they get to censor the “nasty” bits out..so that us poor Malaysians are protected from foreign influences that may corrupt the mind and cause some of us to run amok and maybe even do dangerous things like drive fast and turning our karts turtle!…:P

Then for the Astro programming every single “live” event I’ve checked does this. For example the World Cup matches were delayed by a good 30 seconds+. I don’t see why spend all the money to buy all the games and dedicate several channels and then not show them live.23 March 2007 at 12:39 pm #4538bosozoku
ParticipantI would like to share this article on Kimi’s recent race in Australia…
Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen has revealed just what it means to drive an entire Grand Prix without any team radio contact. Raikkonen’s lights-to-flag victory in Melbourne may have looked straightforward, but it seems the communications issues brought with them their own unique challenges.
To stay informed, the Finnish driver relied on regular pit-board updates but, unable to talk with his race engineer Chris Dyer, Raikkonen’s afternoon was a solitary one. With no one on the other end of the radio pushing him, he admitted he experienced several lapses of concentration during the 58-lap Grand Prix.
“On one occasion – just about ten laps before the end the race – I almost fell asleep!†the Finn told Ferrari’s official website. “I got distracted, my concentration levels dropped a bit and I locked the wheels and took turn number 3 slightly too wide: even without radio I knew that they were saying: ‘Kimi, wake up!’â€
And although he ended the race as easily the fastest driver, with a best lap of 1m 25.235s, Raikkonen also divulged that without the communication difficulties he may well have been tempted to go even quicker. The Finn’s revelation will undoubtedly worry the competition, who were all over a second slower than the Ferrari driver’s F2007.
Any comments guys? 😉 (this should be interesting…)

if we can get TM to also sponsor the BMW team, expresso comes compliments from the management… that’ll help fire ’em up…!!! XD

lol. yeah, the espresso would perk them up. but they’d have to do a lot more to match kimi. even without his johnnie walker, kimi is incredibly perky in the car.

ParticipantTo whom it may concern 😉 .. not sure you heard bout this or not, Michael Schumacher is to have a section of the famous Nurburgring circuit named after him ahead of this year’s German Grand Prix. Schumacher won at the track five times during his illustrious Formula One career.
The ‘Schumacher S’ (formerly the ‘Audi S’) is a fast left-right section midway around the Nurburgring lap. The seven-time world champion will get another chance to sample the corner when he completes a special lap of honour before the 2007 German Grand Prix on July 22.
… he has retired, but not forgotten!! 🙂

ParticipantImagine having dinner with Kimi and yeah, he mumble mumble mumble throughout dinner and everybody ended up straining their ears and watching his mouth to make out what he was saying.. and that’s doubly hard when he’s chewing food at the same time!He should get a strategic PR cum speech consultant..
