ParticipantWhatever people may think of him, I reckon he deserves to be the champion. To become the champ at a young age and with relatively limited experience compared to his competitors speaks for itself.
It’s easy for critics to sit back in on the sofa at home and give negative comments, but as many of us here know from our karting experiences, racing it is not as easy as it looks… and karting is obviously nowhere near as challenging as F1 (except when bro Naza is gnapping from behind) 😉
Well done Lewis… he’s come a long way since his first appearance on Blue Peter when he was a kid playing at the kart track!

ParticipantCongrates to Lewis and McLaren for the Driver’s Championship. But Ferrari has promised that they will be back with vengence 😎

Membercongrats to hamilton… although i was pretty much rooting for massa.
the race had an almost hollywood quality to it… sylvester stallone could not have done better with the last gasp victory. i thought i would fall asleep, but the race was so gripping that i stayed wide awake to the end (even found myself not able to sleep after that).
in the end hamilton had a very strong season. the mclaren and hamilton package was very quick in all conditions. still hamilton made a number of mistakes that allowed massa to still have a chance up to the last few seconds. hamilton could have done it earlier. but as mark says, this is all easier said than done.
i feel very sorry for massa, his family and the brazilian fans at the race: they believed that massa had clinched the WDC, only to later realise that glock had fallen behind and thus given hamilton the 5th position he needed to tie the WDC. what a heart breaker…. otherwise, it would have been a great story for the underdogs.
one person we have to watch very closely is vettel. excellent wet weather driver: he has great feel of the car and grip. i do hope that he gains maturity very quickly to usher an era of giants (alonso, hamilton, vettel, kubica etc) to match the late 80s.

Bro,….hee! hee!….ngapping mengapping is goooodddzzzz!…Kimi was the legitimate 2007 F1 champ by one point and now 23 year old Hamilton is the legitimate 2008 F1 champ also by one point. That’s how tough it was for them to win the championship!
Huge congrats to Lewis! and the biggest shame to those who booed and cannot accept a champion can be of any colour!

ParticipantCongrats to Lewis~ It was indeed an excellent and interesting race from the start to the finish. I was very much awake like Fazz even thought I was so sleepy..
I reckon that everyone in the race deserves to be a champ. I don’t think anyone in the race did not give their full 101%.. but like what Massa said in the post interview.. it’s racing and anything can happen. Glock made a huge gamble for not changing his tires and it costs him the best position in this season and basically made Lewis the champ~
I am keeping my eyes on Vettel.. I reckon if he is given a better package, he will be fighting with those big guns in the front and also the championship. And he sure is fast on wets..

Participanti think massa deserves the WDC… he’s won more races than Lewis. no doubt lewis is a great driver and a definite champion.. but shdnt hv been this year.
vettel is also very good. overtook lewis to gave massa the chance of the title. im sure ferrari is looking into him as we speak 😛
alonso had sobered down in renault.. we want a champion who is fast, humble, and have the brains.. like schumacher 😉
oh well.. this is racing.

ParticipantI think Lewis deserve the Cham. Even though I am a fan of Massa. Racing is not decided in one race but the whole season, it took many factors to be a champ. If Massa can collect another 2 point from any of previous race..walla..
I don’t know about Glock but I don’t feel his reason of slowing down and let Lewis pass when the chequer flack in sight is entirely valid..may be it just me 😀

[/quote]Glock did’nt slow down for hamilton but was losing grip cos he was on dry tyres while majority changed to intermediates. He took the risk of not changing to intermediates hoping the rain to stop instead it got heavier.

ParticipantI think(unconfirmed) only Toyotas were on dry tyres.
