Participantthanks simon!!
OS: when i mean screw-man, i mean the guy holding the screw/jack/airgun to screw the wheel nut.all 3 of us had a go at it. does sepang have this activity? its quite fun to play with the gun.

Membercool pictures. I noticed that the spectators get a very close view of the cars – this is great!
And there seems to be a wonderful carnival atmosphere!

Participantyup…cars are practically next to u, so u definitely need to wear earplugs on raceday. but if at corners like most of my shots, no need earplugs as it isnt that loud.
the down side of being so close is u cant see the car go around corners. u only see the car for 1-2 seconds, then its out of your area of view. good thing about sepang and other purpose built tracks is that the spectators are high up, u get to see the cars taking corners, braking and accelerating.i’ve not upload some “carnival” photos yet. there is even a ferris wheel at the track compound!!

Participantfinal update of the 4 day event. was tiring and sleeping during the race after that single cup of foster’s!! the next time u see melbourne gp photos, it will be from a grandstand.

ParticipantSiew Weng … those were great pictures. And man! u were smiling cheek to cheek with the Vodafone girls. How light are those tyres? I heard you can lift it up with two fingers? Wat air do they use in those tires? Nitrogen?
I like the fun fair type of carnival where public can get close up to the Porsches! Looks like it beats Sepang for fun fair type of atmosphere.
First F1 for u?

Participanthey yip yen,
everyone seems to be talking about the voda girls 🙂
those tyres? they are super light, before my turn, i was wondering if i could lift it up. i would say its probably about 1kg.. so yeah, u can lift it up with 2 fingers! thats just a show car, so i guess they use normal air for the tyres.been to sepang for f1 about 4 times, this is my second aus. GP. sepang has good view of the circuit, thats all. cheap tickets…..and merchandise too. sepang doesnt have much land for activities, thats y its kinda unattractive to go.

Are you kidding?? Siew Weng is an F1 maniac!
Siew Weng – thanks for the great photos and commentaries. Envy you being able go to the Melbourne GP. How much’s the tickets?
The carnival atmosphere is great isn’t it?
11 March 2005 at 12:51 pm #1762razmyn
Participantyupp…agree with the carnival like atmosphere being more fun…just like tha JGTC…IMHO it’s a lot more fun than the F1…the cars, the teams, the girlssss………heheh

Participanthey fazz , not quite an F1 maniac yet. missed the race because of the foster’s… ahahhaha .well, i slept on the grass , its quite peaceful u know, with the V10s screaming pass u every 10 seconds.
yeah, the atmosphere is really good, u feel u are really in a big happy event, worth every cent u pay. to me,the track invasion was the best, if feels so different when u see the podium there with the flags and the anthems being played.
hey razmyn, u know something weird. since the very first jgtc in 2000, i’ve never been to 1!! its always around my exams. then in 2003, when my exam schedule was more spaced out, they cancelled the kl event cos of SARS, so disappointing. they calling it superGT this year btw.
tickets, for 4 day general admission is AUD$195. can walk around the whole park until u pengsan. grandstand range from 359 to 620 for the 1st corner grandstand. yup, the first corner stand is more expensive than the pitstraight stand (429).
i’m here to study man… saved up some money to go so parents wont bising went i go for f1 🙂 .its gonna be my last aussie gp. probably come back here in 5 years time hopefully. feel like going round the track on a normal day… wonder how different it looks.
hope u all enjoyed the photos as much i did taking them.

ParticipantWow! now i really believe the tyres are that super light!!! Someone told me abt tt and i was like “yah, rite”.
Didnt realise sepang sells cheap merchandise. I thought the shirts there are at rip-off prices. u know … the RM being 3.8 times.
its sepang week here … but this time not going. maybe gate crash the HP event at Rush where they hv a big screen with free food.

Participantnot too sure if u guys like airshows or not. just thought of sharing a few photos with u guys.
there is a certain red road car present there too, probably due to its massive aerodynamic influence.
the night fireworks was good, but chilling under 15C with constant wind blowing 🙁 !! -
