ParticipantI got an email(first got FB msg from Tim Chew) from Tim Chew that due to overwhelming response it’s no long father and kids, it’s open to anyone and everyone…. Overwhelming response or more like lack of response π Or maybe it’s more accurate to say due to overwhelming REQUEST to open it up π
So, no need for these ‘farney’ family members…. π
Though, from the attachment, i dont see any rules n regulations about the race format, etc…. I’m definately interested…… but gotta know the R&R first…..
I’m looking for a driver to team up with….. Good to warm up for Sunday’s race π

ParticipantHere’s the reply to my 101 questions to Tim:
I still do not know what is the race format.
We will be having a practice session for around 12 to 15 minutes. This will be followed by a qualifying session. We will take the total times for the 2 team members and divide it by 2.
For example:
Member A β 15 mins 10 secs
Member B β 17 mins 20 secsSo the average of both is 16 mins 15 secs β this is the time that determines your teamβs overall position
The top 8 teams will then progress to the final round where the top 3 teams will win the prizes (including a pair of TAG Heuer watches for the winning team!)
Which karts will be used? TopGear bringing in their own karts? Using the rental 80cc/100cc karts provided by City Karting? Will there be a minimum team weight or individual driver? Will there be ballast added?
We do not have our own karts therefore we will be using the karts provided by the circuit. No minimum team weight of ballast. Lighter the better – Razak + Nizer :up:What are the rules and regulations? Will all these only be answered after we sign up or on the race day itself?
The circuit will be using the standard rules and regulations. Only difference will be the total times as outlined above. What time does the race/qualifying starts? Or do we have to ‘race’ any time between 0900hrs to 1500hrs?
Registration & breakfast β 9.00am
Briefing β 9.30am
Practise session
Qualifying session
Final session
Lunch
Prize presentation
The event might end before 3pm if everything goes smoothly.I’m sure I’m not the only one with these questions.
Actually you are the only one with these questions. Basically this event is meant to be a βfun raceβ for our readers to enjoy but with prizes up for grabs. This is why we are not allowing anyone with a professional racing license to enter.I’d like to know what am I paying RM100 for. I hope you understand.
Each team will also receive a goodie bag worth more than RM100.
Thank you,16 June 2009 at 6:02 am #8550ajak
Participantwhat’s the date? is it ok if I and Nizer?…but it says Father & Son?
16 June 2009 at 6:48 am #8551RawFlesh
ParticipantIt’s this Sat, 20th.
I got the information from Tim Chew, you can email him at astro to confirm, if u think I’m making this up π …. If it’s u & Nizer, the rest of us heavier weights can just forget about it, unless u wanna collect the RM100 door gifts… π

don’t be embarassed…this is not as bad as Mark admitting he’d get into a gay relationship with Chris just to compete in this event…
