Participanttheir logo design and colour is rather unpleasing to the eye thats for sure.
maybe its a spin off from one of my-kart members?

ParticipantInteresting but whatever & whoever has organised this – IT CAN ONLY BE GOOD for the SPORT of KARTING!
Over time, there will be more demand for better karts, tracks when more groups form and this will give MyKart the better choices in the end.
IMHO, MyKart will not restrict anyone from joining other kart groups & I dun see any threat but only positives in this story.
Just my 2 cents!

The troubling thing is some of the words are exactly the same words I had used. Somebody has copied myKART’s concept and ideas.
I have no problems with more and more karting groups being formed, although there is a limit to how many groups we can have before the community starts to fragment back again and the disunity will do us more harm than good.

ParticipantWell kinda good to have competitors… later we can have the inter-club/group competition if we look into a positif side of it.

Bro, I would’nt be too worried about this phenomenon… its the usual IPR copycats in Malaysia. We must keep the headway that mykart has garnered over the years. All we need to do is to keep nurturing the mykart spirit and proceed as planned. Say, I would look at it as a stronger motivator for mykart to progress at a faster rate. Wonder where would their Round 1 race venue be…..

ParticipantAgreed we stay as planned…

ParticipantBro Fazz,
In the regards of copying the words…..it goes to show how much this chap has put in for even that!!! Zilch, more likely…
The final line is when it comes to putting words into action – that matters most and I can say that MyKart is TOPS here! It takes a lot of effort by the members, to make the group a success.
There are other groups there too ; Matrix, ZtH all who dabbled on karts even before Mykart and look where MyKart is in relation to them – kartingwise of course!
Time will tell but I know where my vote is! OK Brudders!!!

ParticipantThe home page has been updated. Looks like they are affiliated to City Karting :
“Starter To Advance Racing Karting Team (STAR-KART) a public sports division of City Karting Enterprise caters monthly races and event as an establised karting service provider in Malaysia …….”
Maybe Fazz & Jules can find out more about this from Uncle or Wai Leong? Who is Dev – is he from City Karting?
17 May 2005 at 7:31 am #2048Jules
ParticipantGuys,
At OSF suggestion – I spoke with Wai Leong to clarify the situation.
STAR-KART is set up by an individual and a karting enthusiast. His statement of the club/group being “a public sports division of City Karting Enterprise” is incorrect & misleading.
Wai Leong clarifies that Dev, just like MyKart – is a client but perhaps Dev was too keen and made the association to City Karting unintetionally. Wai Leong has apparently already expressed his strong opinion to Dev that he should not link his karting group to City Karting blatantly. He should correct his webpage to reflect the true picture.
I hope the situation is clearer now. Anyway to Dev, happy running a new group and event – you are free to come support MyKart as well.
Cheers!
