Very clear and precise instructions. I would like to point out though, if the driver in the lead is aware that someone is determined to pass on the inside (against the advice given above), be prepared that they are likely to slide and cross your path, so prepare yourself to give way to avoid any unwanted incident.

F1 cars have rear view mirrors and the lead driver must be blind if he claimed that he was not aware of another driver behind him trying to make a pass. Karts however, dont have any and its therefore up to the lead driver to be prepared to give space at the last moment or risk contact.

As for me, I’d rather lose a position and fight to regain it than to make contact, get a DNF…..and the walk of shame photographed!

well the general rule of overtaking is if u would want to dive in to out-brake the person infront, do so at the straight, and not in the corners, you will T BONE the poor fellow, unless your outside tyres are made of rubber came from planet grip.

not sure whether to say this.. but.. 😛

if you are the lead driver about to be passed, instead of blocking, allow your opponent to pass… but make sure u brake late and open up your racing line. your opponent will get the inside line, but he will also come out wide, while you come up tighter..

this is classic recovery maneuver.. we see it all the time in F1 😉
