Participantsepang track at 1st turn!!! cone oso not enuff i think….lol…..that 1st corner no need brakes i think oni turn 2 must brake…..so i think if u take a wider angle turning into turn 1 meaning running wide ( beyond) white line…….just close eyes and sapu b4 coming to turn 2……..i feel its dangerous to other drivers……but need to know if this kindda move is legal or nt……

[/quote]You run out of the “extra road” a bit too early to be able to make much use of it there – you have to turn in too early if you’re way out there. In the wet with a Rotax that area can be very handy though ;).

Participantmikko,
i agree……..but im looking at the perspective of saftey……….most of us are newbies or inexperienced in karting…..the person running whose 4 wheels out of the white line is very experienced…..compared to the rest of us……..so perhaps manuplation of rules assuming we dunnow to his benefit………in any case i dont care about benefit…….if u r capable to manuveour that way is fine but if endanger others…..its a BIG NO NO!!!! fiy we raced after a heavy down-pour……..f1 weekend saturday!
btw……..my other
big Q…….i will repost no one replied or commented on it 🙁oh another thing…………does city kart have ballast? if no? pls can some one reccomend a place where i can buy em? in dire need of ballast? how can i fit a ballast on cirt kart rentals?
many Thanks to all of u who gave input …………really appreciated it!

determining who is the winner between the two really depends on how you do your scoring. my-kart uses a points scoring system to determine the winners. our scoring goes as follows:
Points table (qualifying heats):
Position.....Score
1.............20
2.............16
3.............14
4.............12
5.............11
6.............10
7..............9
8..............8
9..............7
10.............6
11.............5
12.............4
13.............3
14.............2
15.............1so in your example, drive B has more points overall (28 vs 27). in case the points are done differently and/or there is a tie, then you have to use a tie breaker rule. in my-kart we use seeding order. ie, the driver with a higher ranking order will win. in F1, they use the drive who has the best finish of the two – which in your example would have been driver A (finished 2nd).
i think some replied to your question by asking you to join our events. that would give you a better appreciation of how the rules work.

Participantgood morning guys,
another query i have, as mentioned in earlier replies above….is city kart getting themselves equipped with more ballast equip? how can I verify this and confirm. our next round will be nxt mth at ck i wanna solve this weigh issues once and for all so we do not have future issues or segregation of light and heavy racing and finally consolidating the best from each category to run again…..too much hassle.
also to my understanding, ( pls correct me as i go on) if an average weight is 70 kgs those lighter will be ballasted to 70kgs? even if they weigh a mere 53kgs? :O
thanks

Participantdear Fazz,
Thanks alot for your reply,
if im not wrong our point scoring system is as follows
1———-10
2———-8
3———-6
4———-5
5———-4
6———-3
7———-2
8———-1meaning both drivers ended up with 12 pts each……..as you are saying if we see the common rule as per F1…….. the driver who got 2nd position and 5th position wins against the driver who finished 3rd in both races?
how do I/we come by joining you guys? arent u guys already into a season or do ya’ll have fun rounds which we can come participate. We will be going for our practise this sunday at CK…….. 🙂 need to learn 😕
Thank You

Regarding ballast at CK, i think some ppl has already replied, so i’m not going to repeat it.Regarding the 53kg driver, if u want to have the min driver weight at 70kgs, then yes, they’ll need to add the ballast on. Why won’t u?

Participantsulky many of the questions you ask depend on what regulations you’re following. A good place to have a look at the grand daddy of karting regulations is http://www.cikfia.com. You can download all the sporting and technical regulations there. They’re a bit of a read but you can search the pdf files and they cover pretty much everything.
Those are the main regulations sanctioned karting events abide by – and then they have their own series regulations – for example the regulations for Rotax Max Challenges can be found on maxchallenge-rotax.com.
And then of my-kart has their own regulations which you can adapt.
Yes if the minimum weight is defined as 70kg for the driver then for that category a driver weighing 53 would have to add 17kg of lead. I believe My-Kart has a lighter category as well though ;).
