ParticipantIf I’m not mistaken Team MAA HPC Racing car 33) finished 5th in Class A and 16th overall, which was a truly amazing result considering on Friday we were concerned about qualifying for the race!
My-Karters formed the backbone of this team, from team manager Brian Eravelly, driver Ashraff & James Veerappen, Yusnee, Alvin, Jules, Angeline, Siak Jin, Huffiz & myself working in various pit crew roles throughout the night and morning. Also spotted on the pit wall was my-karter Steward Loke working for Cartrade, and of course Luen and Ramsey Sabelt were driving for their respective teams.
Anyway it was a great experience for me working alongside Jules on the pitwall communications to the driver. It was 11 hours on the job for me (32 hours awake overall!!) , with a 1 hour break between 6am-7am to catch some sleep and to change shoes as I got wet around 3am due to the thunderstorm! Yup, our TV monitor also got wet and that was one of the more memorable moments, with the best moment being Ashraff’s hand gesture signal around 11am that got the entire pit crew suited up and on alert, despite the fact that Ashraff only wanted to look at the engine! We were a little confused when he sped off and did respectable lap times, and deduced that there was no trouble at all!
Anyway, I’ll post some of the unofficial photos on my fotopages shortly!Well done to all My-Karters who participated in the MME, and to Brian for a job well done in getting Team MAA HPC Racing a great result!

Yeah. It was underpower. Good handling compared with other team but losing out on the straights due to the scrutineer didnt approved us to use CAI (Cold Air Intake) hole at the bumper and asked us to cover the hole or else they wont provide us an OK sticker. If not, that would gain us 2-4 secs on the straight. Damn!
Congrats to team HPC! Just a suggestion, hope to see team HPC competing in class B or C next year to give chance other my-karters to drive in this kind of event. Felt sorry for henzee didnt made for the race due to his engine blew during first qualifying and stiff competition qualifying in class B.

ParticipantGreat experience, espcially night driving + heavy rain = poor visibility. Almost drove by feeling… hahaha

Not only that, always need to be on alert to let faster cars from behind and stayed out of the racing line during the rain. Banged a tire wall after turn 8 exit after the car lose control without warning. I believe there’s an oil on that 8 exit and recovered on time without any major problems except few dents and cracks on rear passenger side bumper.
Also, almost involved in a pile-up before turn 7 entry that involves 4 cars at that time. Then, the safety car comes out for 3 laps. Was very lucky to finish this race.
