ParticipantSorry myself quite bad in technical but I willing to share how I feel, haha…
When the kart understeer it is hard to correct by lift -off oversteer or power out, no more late braking, need to be very Discipline when driving it.
More powerful than the Yamaha engine but the down side is this kart dont have the agility normally we have from 100, 125 karts.
Maintenance wise, yeah… the kart perfomance might not as much diff as 100 and 125 through the whole season.
Only tested 3 laps and jump into yamaha with my friends, clocked ard 1:04 on RK-1 tho =P
ps: from newbie view…

ParticipantAgree with Jules comments earlier
The biggest change of this kart is the way is being handled. i think its because of the weight of the engine contributes alot to the weight transfers .
For my first lap i literally spun at the corner infront of the grandstand.Did a 1.02 for the first stint. and then got used to it and managed to finally clocked mid to late 1.01s
Its powerful and faster than the 100 cc. but requires some changes in driving style to adapt to it .

ParticipantThank you for sharing ur feedback. Sharing is caring, as they say….
Anymore from those who tested? Fazz?
Well, if AP have his ways – this could be the K2 so you will also be reading the reviews here closely soon!

Participantwow! interesting development on 4-stroke engines. being able to clock similar lap times as the yamaha’s in “leisure” conditions (compared to race conditions) is quite impressive.
Requirement to changing of driving styles is quite welcoming and interesting.
Are they available for fun karting now?

sorry, i missed this.
yes, i took a test drive on this kart. only 3 laps. not sufficient to form a proper opinion. immediate impressions is that it is heavier than the normal 100cc yamaha. has good speed though. it doesn’t feel as nimble as the lighter 2-stroke karts. it has a bit more inertia particularly in corners, so you have to be smoother and more precise here.

Thanks Fazz,
yes – it feels heavy but the engine power makes up for it plus of course a change in how you brake, steer and throttle the kart…..

Participanttested the kart just now..just a few pointers to add:
1. performance of the engine is superb for 4 stroker..i mean its fast..a little bit faster than 100cc if properly driven..
2. vibration is a lot..if this is the chassis for the endurance i can say that it will really test the driver endurance..i try for 10 laps n it was taxing my hand..K1 is more forgiving..
3. definitely need a new approach of driving..n seriusly that 10 laps i try i was never more than 85% its potential..i know there’s a lot can be extract from it..so hopefully CK can get it ready before the endurance race so everybody can try to understand its behaviour on track
i say this is perfect for endurance and also revival of K2 series..now can i downgrade to K2?hahahaha

ive been reading a lot of the reviews on the kart.. seems like an impressive machine.. last friday i did manage to drop by at CK for a hot lap with the kart it self just to have the feel my self.. but it was unfortunate for me to do so.. Miow told me the tire was not in good shape..the left rear inner tire was worn out badly… (i could see the wire mesh inside the tire already.. :wow: )
but did try to fire it up.. seems a potential machine.. (based on the sound of it) but sound of an engine dose not promise anything until u have driven it.. will try to drop by again this weekend to give it a lap or two..
as what zuljag said.. if this kart will be brought back into the K2 series.. it will be a great idea .. as less maintanance then 2stroke 125 (just assuming) .. and for zuljag u jsut mingle around in K1 lah.. dont kacau daun in K2.. hahaha..
so for the proposal for the kart to be used in MME.. will be a great idea i guess..
