ParticipantHi guys,
Thank you for the help. The current schedule is for HPC to run from 9am to 1pm. For those that are available for the day, I will need help with registration in the morning, directing participants to the garages, incident recording and maning the black flag station (need about 5 people and will explain in detail the resposibilities once I can get a list of volunteers)
The last on track session for HPC will begin at 12:20 for 40 minutes. The media and VIP invites for the Racing for Children Launch will mention that track rides will be given at this time for those that are interested. As Fazz has already posted we will need help with the registration, ushering, media and VIP handling. Lunch will begin at 1pm and the Launch proceedings will begin at the closing of lunch at 1:45pm. We will therefore be needing people from 12pm onwards for the actual launch to direct media that show up for the rides. Meet, greet and usher VIP and Media that show up later for just the lunch to the hospitality suite, register media and VIPs and hand out press kits, set up the cars that are participating in the Racing for Children Program for the scheduled Photo Op, etc.For those already signed up as instructors, don’t worry we will put you to work. 🙂 Others please send me an email to eravelly@yahoo.com so I can compile a list of volunteers, the times you are available and assign you a task.
Thanks again for your help,
Brian

Memberfolks
pls keep the responses coming in. this is a my-KART initiative and we would like to have the launch a successful one and have fun at the same time. we should also turn up in droves to give the event the my-KART atmosphere. 😉

ParticipantThanks for the clarification Fazz.
I’m there to instruct and help do whatever else needs doing. Can give a free hand pretty much in any area (although the preference is one which doesn’t overlap with instructing ;). Okay, maybe I’m hopeless handling veeps and media so I’ll cancel those. Ah, heck… ushering, registration or logistics is fine by me.6 April 2006 at 4:07 pm #2718TheFazz
Memberfolks thanks for volunteering.
we need all of you to turn up at the sepang international circuit paddock entrance before 0800hrs. please leave home by 0700hrs. we will need to brief all volunteers of their roles. Please call me at 019 3855 055 for clarification.
cheers

ParticipantHow ah if the instructor has not driven on the track before?
Guess the instructors might need a track familiarisation orientation run before becoming an instructor. Any programme planned for this?
Ramsey & Shaeran volunteering their car to be the instructor’s training car?

nizer – great first hand account. certainly on your last point, HPC will be working on improving the programme further with certification. however, to manage expectations our initial assessment is that this will be around 12 months.

ParticipantSorry, did not post comments here cos I was waiting from Brian’s forum to come up.
yes, the instructors must first know sepang as a driver ( road car ) and 2nd of all, there should be some form of guideline for the instructors on what to look for, what to advise.
In fact, I would even give each driver a score sheet so he has in writing what he does well and what needs improving….
2 instruction stints only? I must have done 5-6 cos I was so blurry at the end cos one of the students car had a jammed window and I was suffocating!
hope the rest enjoyed this…I did.
