Wun be surprised anyway…….esp if the car tyres start touching the tarmac with their rims……

Maybe the operators dun care cos of the imminent closure? Sad what ever it is….

I was told even the drifters are not too happy with the track – blown tyres, cracked rims, cracked bumpers, etc.

The operator either out of ignorance ( doubt it..) or just due to plain irresponsibility must take the blame for drifters tearing the pavement. Firstly, what was the track designed for? Was it for karting or for loads up to and including cars?. The average weight for a kart and driver is about 180 kg and the medium size car with driver about 1000 kg, so thats about 5 times more. Simply put, the track was not designed for higher than designed loads and drifting would really punish the road surface at the cornors. Pouring water on the surface would mean soaking the road resulting in a “softer” road and will than cause the road surface to break up even earlier. You will notice similar situations on public roads after a downpour especially where overloaded lorries passed through.

Guys, I like to qualify what I have commented as I have yet to check out the track.

It will be a great shame if all of this is true, and that XtremePark will be closed down. At one point we had 5 kart circuits in the Klang Valley, and now potentially down to 3 (Shah Alam, Sepang and Elite)… but even Elite is an unknown quantity.

Would anybody know if Raja Razman plans to move elsewhere?

    Fazz,
Very sad indeed for the karting fraternity if it is really closing. Will try to find get more info on this. Pan Global will have to replace Extreme Park with other venues ( Coincidentally they have other venues thsi year). I see a vision when mykart will someday run some circuit).. (very wide grin).

3 kart track? whatever happened to the track in Sepang? They seem to be closed all the time, but it’s still a good track.

I guess the only way you can have it work is by having somebody full time there like those of Shah Alam, rather than have some part-timers taking care of it. I feel bad for those people who drives all the way from shah alam, KL and lembah klang are to Sepang only to find out that they’re closed for the day.

Agreed that Sepang could be better managed. It is not a good track, it is a GREAT track in my opinion. Very flowing. It is wonderful to drive on with a 100cc or 125cc kart.

In the end it is really about having full timers managing these kart circuits.

I reckon MyKart can do a good job of running the Sepang track, esp with our pilot connections.

Weekdays can target the pilots & flight crews (here we go again!!!), esp those beauties from Air Emirates 😉

Chill Chill dudes, I heard there’s a new track somewhere in Shah Alam. To be confirmed though. I’m looking for it. Suppose to be run by Mr Richard Lim. Anyone knows him? Half of City Karting Elite Mechanic Crew was taken up by him.
Stupid to say the Sunway ppl letting Jokers play drift drift in a go kart track. Engineering wise it’s totally impropable as the crusher runs and tarmac insufficient to take such loads. Soon I think we’d be seeing pot holes in the middle of the race track.

then karter can move accross the track as many times as possible to avoid pot holes and also at the same time a good reason to block other racer to overtake… hahahhaha….

    i’m kidding anyway.

Would this be the same guy also known as Uncle Richard? Whereabout will this new kart track be? Uncle Richard used to be with City Karting.

What’s “City Karting Elite” mechanic crew? You meant the race mechanics Tat Loong and Ah Lau?

Wah…from Sunway Extreme Park to a new Shah Alam track….would be keen to know abt this and perhaps do a drive one day!

Uncle Richard, Elite mechanic…..but good to know if he is indeed developing this and the mechanics found better places of employment but whatever, I am only a driver and a CLIENT!
