[b]7 Rookies Selected for my-KART 8 Hours Mad Mega Endurance[/b]
[b]03 November 2009[/b] – It took around 4 hours of deliberating to select the rookies from the shortlist of 19 drivers. The Team TeleVAS Evaluation Panel comprising of Mark Timms, Zul Samad, Ramsey Rizal and Desmond Khoo struggled for hours on end to make their final selection.
The process started by identifying drivers based initially on their performance during the time trial. Driver weights were considered using a factoring formula to assess their relative weight/lap time against the benchmarked lap times. Further considerations such as track safety and ethics, kart control and driver potential were introduced into the decision making process.
It is worthy to note that of the 19 drivers shortlisted, each driver met a certain criteria that we were looking for in the final selection and after the very first round of elimination all 19 drivers were still on the list! This in itself speaks volumes about the performance and characteristics of the participants who were all so closely matched.
Initially we announced that we would select 5 drivers for the team. However, the evaluation panel finally reached the conclusion that we will select 7 drivers to undergo training leading to the 8 hours endurance race. Each driver will receive fully sponsored professional coaching comprising of track theory and practice, team building and team strategising. Of the 7 drivers, 5 will drive in the endurance and 2 will form an essential part of the team as crew members.

2. Chin Ze Wei
3. Ahmad Ezane Ahmad Taharim
4. Woo Peng Kuen
5. Ezreen Edzwan
6. Muhammad Saifuddin Shafik
7. Chin Yaa KhimCongratulations to the 7 drivers and for those who did not make it through to the final group, we can assure you that it was not an easy decision to make and the level of competence demonstrated by all the drivers was far above the expectations of the evaluation panel. Our heartiest congratulations go out to all of you.

Da LobsterCongrats to the final magnificent 7 selected and this is just the beginning. Kudos to TTR for their contribution to grassroots motorsports.
I will say this again: those who did’nt make it should not despair and instead join the my-kart club race series in the new season (2010) and you will be amazed yourselves at how good you are and in a very short time too.
Fyi, there are other racing teams who prefer to lie low and keeping a sharp eye on new talents like yourselves….and that’s why you must show yourselves in my-kart races.
Come and join Rd 10 this weekened for a start.
Bro Naza. All of them are buaya’s in the making! Each and everyone of them demonstrated great all round potential. It was honestly a very tough and gruelling 4 hours of decision making!
I sincerely hope we will see them at my-kart events and I am convinced we will be forced into retirement as they sharpen their skills!

well done to all the 7 drivers who were selected.
i can tell the selection process was very tough and the decisions made by the panel were very difficult. so for those that did not make it, do not despair. keep coming to my-kart race events and polish your skills.
i would also like to extend my appreciation to the televas evaluation panel for conducting the selection process in a very professional manner. a lot of work had to go into the organisation and selection process. well done guys!
