Yes, of course, you’re right there. The key is to rev and change gear accordingly.
I’m a biker, and I don’t normally rev anywhere near the readline, in fact I seldom rev past 10,000rpms. Just would like to experience a shifter, that’s all.

OSF, did u test (& broke the gearbox) on that Saturday, after the HP event? I saw u come in, thought u were only putting in more ‘winter testing’.
Hey Jules/OSF/Fazz, any way for a novice like me to test the kart? Dun worry, small chance of me breaking anything, I’m not that fast out on track 😛

i used to go to the races too, initially when marconi was sponsoring renault, later when i was mad enough to actually fork out my own dough to endure the heat, the crazy traffic, and the exorbitant prices they charge for food/drinks,but i’ve come to my senses lately and decided to spend my money on MotoGP instead.
in fact, one F1 hillstand ticket for raceday alone will get me 3 MotoGP weekend pass for the grandstand. and the race thrill is just as great,if not better.
okaaayyy…i’m a bit of a mat motor. heck,i even attend the winter tests the MotoGP teams carry out in SIC!
but i may consider going again this year,if i can convince my boss to dish out free tickets to our customers again… 😀

    …and a printer!
would be good if we can hv printouts of the many, many wonderful spreadsheets that Fazz has in his laptop.
race-by-race results could be printed out,and pasted on the whiteboard for all to see.
but a printer is a bit pricey, wonder if any of my-KARTers out there with powerful connections can ‘spare’ a unit…? ostensibly to be provided ‘on-loan’ or as a ‘demo unit’…?

    Fellas,
I’m looking at the possibility of bringing in used karts from Japan.
This is still only a possibility for now, nothing has been confirmed as yet.
I know someone whose son works in a chop-shop,the son travels to Japan now and then to bring in these chop parts, and I posed the question if it is possible to bring in used karts, and he said no problem!
Yeah right,no problem will usually turn out into ‘big problem’ later on!
Anyways,he said he will try to bring in a couple of units in March (his next trip),and I’ll see how easy/difficult are the arrangements.
Problem is,not being a karter himself,he probably wouldn’t know if the units he’s bringing in is of any good, and I don’t think he will have the time to actually look for good units.
    Any tips here…?

    Fazz,
    I definitely think we need a hailer,pronto.
I remember during the last round you got some of the guys (Irwan,Tom) to help you out on K3.
Poor guys were running all over the place to get the K3 finalists to choose their karts.
It was easier to manage the crowd at the previous pit location, but the new location is a bit of a challenge to get one’s attention.
I’m sure you can convince City Karting to provide a hailer, else let us know,we’ll chip in,no prob.
Especially when the next enduro comes along,we’ll definitely need them hailers!
    Just my 2 sen’s worth.
