ParticipantWhat are they doing? Well, basically jumping after the corner does help a tenth of a second if you do it the right way. But you only do it once. Sometimes doing it at the wrong corner or too many times will eventually slow you down.
What is the purpose? As we all know that the 80cc kart are slow with their pick ups. The slight jump basically reduce the weight on the back. As we all know that all karts are rear wheel drive. So the back wheel basically pushes you and your kart forward.
When you have a heavy load on the back, it takes a longer time for the kart to gain that extra kick to push you forward. So a little jump makes the weight on the back lighter, so that you get an extra kick for the pick up.
But bear in mind that once you jump up, what goes up must come down. Sometimes the weight that you put on after that little jump is even heavier than you sitting still. The best is just to lean forward.
If there is a mistake in my explanation, please correct me.

ParticipantFor the OMP Rib-protector.. if you are running with 80cc, I reckon it’s good enough. But if you are running on 100s or the 125s, I reckon you get a better one that really protects your rib for RM600+
I once had the OMP one and it’s more like a rib-comforter than a protector. My experience was getting an injury while driving the 125s on D2 tires.
