marshalls will be good but we need volunteers.

adding to mikko’s comments on stopping – if it was a simple clash and tangle accident, I wun stop but again, my comments on stopping is based on this scenario…..someone trapped under the kart and NO ONE IN SIGHT to help the poor driver!!!

Again, stop at a safe place and yes, engine off! ( thanks Lobster….)

As per my reply in an earlier thread, I WOULD STOP but in a SAFE LOCATION AFTER THE ACCIDENT LOCATION…OFF the racing line, as close as possible to tyre wall.

The kart track is about 8m wide at the minimum, so I think we wun jam anybody.

The reason is we dun have any marshals to help or even wave flags! Since CK are not well trained, I trust my mYKart boys/girls more than any one else!

If you are not medically competed – at least do your bit to slow the karts coming towards to the incident area!!! That would prevent PILEUPS!

Again, all the above advice are my own, relevant for a FUN KART event like ours.

    Guys,

I am quite concern reading that we have another incident here again on track. I think for this year, we have quite a few already and I would ask the seniors to sit down and analyse what we can do to both drivers, kart condition and emergency response team – to firstly reduce such incidents again.

From what I recall, most of the past incidents are driver(s) error so I think we must instill some form of system to instill drivining discipline. As a last option, maybe a demerit system should be implemented.

In regards to kart safety, we have always talked about this and I guess, the need to inspect your own kart for basic safety is known and practise by all.

Track walk/inspection – I guess my absence has not helped as this task was always done by me. As some will recall, I have the possibility to ride on a bike around the track to ensure that the cones are avaialable and ensure that barriers are adequately placed and far away from track edge. In my absence, PLEASE someone do this!!

It is sad that a driver has now crashed due to dirty track condition, which if we could not clean in time – at least we could have warned the drivers at the briefing if this is the case.

In regards to emergency response, the question to stop or not should be a logical choice since we are NOT IN REAL COMPETITION. I WILL STOP MY KART SAFELY, IN A LOCATION WHERE IT WILL NOT CAUSE ANOTHER INCIDENT. I said this because, we DO NOT have enough marshalls and hence at least we can at least warn drivers coming up to the incident area to SLOW DOWN. No flags? Wave your hands!!!!

Sure, CK should also be properly trained but I think this is an uphill task and hence this is something mykart has to take upon – and possibly create an emergency response team. ( until the st john arrives on the scene )

Fazz and all, pls see that the above is discussed ( an e-team ) and something done.

For the sake of My-Kart, please learn from this incident. I sincerely hope Lynda is recovering rapidly.

    Great this is being revived…..

Mark, you are right to be concerned on the engine. New engines will be too taxing but I would at least insist a clause on a complete rebuilt to standard specs for all engine, once every year!

Tyres? what about that but I must say the JYM or whatever we used once are ok ( esp for 100cc )

Keep me informed and be glad to advise on tech matters. ( sorry for silence, a new home takes plenty of all spare time…)

    Good luck!

    ok thanks.

reason I asked is cos Aaron told me his father wanted to propose something to MyKart and hence I wanted to know if a deal with AP was signed…..

    will keep all posted.

    cheers.
By telling other people you dont brake in a kart maybe cool but you’ll never learn basic racing technique fundamentals. Call me slow and not matter what, I would still brake in a 80cc kart.
The steering wheel is the brake……understand this and you know how to go faster…

Also I would like to ask this, for the 80CC karts do driving line matter? Since there is almost no braking to be done I would assume that how you turn into corners are not that important? Or is the racing line still very critical?
Racing line is EVERYTHING on any type of karts…oh boy, I see you have mighty lot to learn but the My-Kart ppl will be patient with you.

Trail braking? Come to HPC and we can teach u this….but then we are talking about cars.

Btw, please see Mikko’s diagram as a guide cos it sure is not valid for a 80cc….or even my driving style on the 125cc ( at least some corners )

    Des,

I think you are not a newbie as I recall ur name from somewhere before.

Anyhow, on 80cc you dun trail brake since the speeds are too slow. From my memory, you probably brake in a few locations on this track…..

If the kart set-up is correct, you also dun need to brake but then dun quote me.

    Have fun.

    Bro Fazz,

Now I dun know how more clearly I have to tell you this without sounding too direct.

As per memories goes, the conversation went….after I ask if these karts are soley for Mykart usage….

He said “No, the karts can be rented out for corporate customers but yes, we wun rent it to walk-in customers”.

He further said ” but then also not many other corporate events can handle the 125cc except maybe the group from HP”.

After hearing all this and knowing how excited some of you are – I said I formed my opinion as I dun want to kill your enthusiasm in this effort.

Hence I honestly ask ALL THOSE IN THE POWERS TO DECIDE THE PATH OF MYKART K1 SERIES – go speak as one united group with him. This will surely reduce any misunderstanding, ill feelings and disappointment later.

FAZZ, you better lead this meeting with NAZA, Azlan, Luen’s & comittee presence – that’s my frank suggestion to clarify a very fundamental but vital issue.

    Fazz,

AP is not highly educated so can interprete this differently – so please dun assume the term is clearly understood by him.

If you want me to say it – the CRG karts even when u sign the contract WILL NOT be for MyKart SOLE use only during the tenure of your lease – this opinion I formed after I spoke to AP on last Saturday.

I am trying to make sure you guys come to a common understanding to ensure this progresses to where you all want it to be and his statement was not in line with what I read and hear on this forum.

    Just my advise.

sorry to be a wet blanket but please clarify with AP the meaning “exclusive use for My-Kart” only – before even bringing him any papers to sign.

    just an advice.

I tested kart after u all – chassis, brakes and tyres ok. engine, adequate but as per other PRD, ear plugs not a bad idea.
