ParticipantAs they say…If I tell you, I have to kill you….he he
Seriously, there’s no straight answers since one corner is connected to the next via straights. The entry & exit from these corners depends on the entry & exit of the next corners, amongst many other things like track grip, width and of course, your kart power, tyres.
The key points is to know which corners are the important ones on the track.
I tend to agree that late apex is typically the safer bet…which is applicable to road driving as well. If someone is trying to pass, then the line changes…which u know very well. the corner we stood at is a Late Apex one, which all of you know now.
There’s no magic to this……practice and basic physics.

Participantstarting the car himself? ahh?this means an on board starter is to be mandatory now.

ParticipantIMHO, BMW make GREAT engines……..Williams HAD their chance to recoup their past glories and did not capitalise!
Heidfeld is the quiet achiever……which I think BMW would prefer over Webber. ( not wanting to bring patriotism/nationality into the picture…)

Participantnot sure if WL & his dad in on Sat after our event ( Elite has a club race…). If yes, I can spare some time on it.

ParticipantIMHO, Michelin is GUILTY.
Coming to a race on a known track ( no doubt resurfaced, I heard ), on a known date but without the correct, safe tyres is inexcusable.
The teams cannot race, for the safety of their drivers, cars and even spectators are implicated in whole mess. If I am a team owner & I am summoned by FIA – Michelin will have to answer all my questions.
That’s my 2 cents!

ParticipantYes, Wei Li…..wun mind a VCD! Once u get one burned…I can burn it myself!

As said before, walk-in customers have to share the track and sometimes have to give way to 100cc / 125cc karts and that spoils the race.[/quote]In my limited experience, I never knew they gave way to anyone……..so I just blast them aside…..ka ka ka!!!
Seriously how can u compare walk-in with MyKart races…no brainer-lah & there’s where the money difference pays…if there was one in the 1st place! ( walk-in 3 x RM 35 versus RM90 with 3 x races plus management etc. etc. adoi!!! )

ParticipantErghhhh, just want to clarify why I had to write a lengthy reply to Azmee’s comments .
I feel very strongly about this issue cos MyKart grew out of the dedication of some key members who voluntarily did all the hard work of organising, keeping this going, giving the group a vision, sacrificing time & money whilst trying to enjoy their passion of kart driving unselfishly. Of course all other members play their part too in supporting the group’s activities.
The organising guys get ZILCH in monetory returns but heaps of friends, pleasure, comradeship amongst people with similar driving pursuits & they are not complaining!
I find that the questions posted is a kick in the mouth but maybe it’s because I am a bit sensitive & nyayuk. I dun mean to offend okay, but just expressing my tots.
We can never please everyone ( & I suggest DUN ) – this is the last tot I want all of you to remember on this issue.

Participantwah Macau GP….very interesting! Was on track one week before event and passed the very very tight hairpin.
anyway, about the kart track……I heard it’s quite a dangerous one due to the fact that one fast corner has a big monsoon drain behind it….some people were injured before going off there ( not sure if killed ) Ask Wan Shin….
Keep me informed! Air Asia flies there now!

ParticipantAzmee,
Before Fazz clarifies, let me give you my opinion.
1) Mykart is not bonded to CityKArting in anyway, so our pricing is also influenced by their pricing to us. MyKart does not have a contract with them so we cannot influence too much on what they quote us. At present, we use City Karting due to their better facilities, kart but there’s no guarantee on that long term – hence MyKart wants to have the flexibility to go else where too.
2) The last increase was to provide some fund to the MyKart prize pool. The earlier increases were from City Karting, as far as I know. In addition, the last increase was also to ensure some form of first aid is available for our event.
3) Before your members ask you about the increase, do ask them to try joining our events 1st and gauge what they are getting for their money’s worth. MyKart is NOT a profit organisation ( as yet ).
4) Pricewise at City Karting, I am only aware that walk-in customer pay RM35 ( 80cc karts ) for ten minutes with NO track reservation, NO race organisation, NO championship, NO limit on what kart is on track, NO friends to race with etc etc etc. NO track reservation means you meet some crazy 125 drivers zooming down your rear and scaring the hell out of you when we pass, leaving you no space to brake, corner as well…..
5) 4 stroke karts? We are in a speed sports – so the faster karts are favoured by our members. Unfortunately for us, speed and rental fees sseem to go hand in hand.
6) The price we are charged is market rate and for the quality of karts & venue, we think this is the best value we are getting.Hope to have given you some points of clarification.
Do join us, then you & your friends may review the comments.
Thanks.

ParticipantGuys,
At OSF suggestion – I spoke with Wai Leong to clarify the situation.
STAR-KART is set up by an individual and a karting enthusiast. His statement of the club/group being “a public sports division of City Karting Enterprise” is incorrect & misleading.
Wai Leong clarifies that Dev, just like MyKart – is a client but perhaps Dev was too keen and made the association to City Karting unintetionally. Wai Leong has apparently already expressed his strong opinion to Dev that he should not link his karting group to City Karting blatantly. He should correct his webpage to reflect the true picture.
I hope the situation is clearer now. Anyway to Dev, happy running a new group and event – you are free to come support MyKart as well.
Cheers!

ParticipantBro Fazz,
In the regards of copying the words…..it goes to show how much this chap has put in for even that!!! Zilch, more likely…
The final line is when it comes to putting words into action – that matters most and I can say that MyKart is TOPS here! It takes a lot of effort by the members, to make the group a success.
There are other groups there too ; Matrix, ZtH all who dabbled on karts even before Mykart and look where MyKart is in relation to them – kartingwise of course!
Time will tell but I know where my vote is! OK Brudders!!!
Jules
ParticipantInteresting but whatever & whoever has organised this – IT CAN ONLY BE GOOD for the SPORT of KARTING!
Over time, there will be more demand for better karts, tracks when more groups form and this will give MyKart the better choices in the end.
IMHO, MyKart will not restrict anyone from joining other kart groups & I dun see any threat but only positives in this story.
Just my 2 cents!
Jules
ParticipantNow I know who the HAM-SAP members are!!!
( Ham-sap = persons with a strong, almost uncontrolable urges to the opposite gender, normally used on males only. Condition always also linked to BUAYA-nism )Ka ka…talk abt new prices and enduro, then end up this….
Champion-lah u lot! LOL
Jules
Participantsorry to confuse you….
