For drivers interested in DD2… you can get a brand new Intrepid DD2 package (engine+kart) for a very, very good price. Normal retail is at around RM29000 or so. We’ve set the retail price already down to RM26,000 to encourage purchases.

Now we’re offering an even better deal:
If you’re going to race it: buy the kart now and you can get a price better than RM26,000, and a set of tyres free….. and get this:

Entry fee for this year and next year for all Rotax Max Challenge Malaysia rounds will be returned with “KRS Cash” for the quivalent amount that you can use on tyres, engine rebuilds, parts etc…. that’s RM250 per round or RM1250 for next year’s full championship…. or RM1750 if you take part in the two remaining rounds this year and next year’s races.

Also 3 full days of driver training from me to get you accustomed to the DD2 free of charge as well ;).

If you’re interested in buying a DD2 get in touch with me 012-2608102 or email mikkonassi@gmail.com

Also if you’re interested in renting the RM1 karts get in touch.

Arrow karts are really nice. I raced a “Monaco” which was a rebranded Arrow – in fact it might have been the same chassis as this one. It was incredibly responsive to setup changes and provided really good feedback from the front end. I think I raced two races on it and won twice. It still holds the Rotax Max Senior Speedway PLUS (elite) track record I think – at 42.9 =).

I suggest you put up more info such as who else is driving and more details on the car to create more interest.

What happens if the car doesn’t qualify? All that money and very little driving. 🙂

I find it’s mainly useful in a few corners if you’re having problems with excessive rear grip. You basically get the rear end to lose grip for a fraction of a second allowing for a bit of wheel spin to free up the kart and the engine.

I once had a really really bad bog out of a corner in Sepang. When the “jump” worked (got the rear to spin) it gave me almost 2 tenths :O … when it didn’t it was the same as if I didn’t jump.

Done really only when you’re still turning because in a straight line the engine doesn’t get bogged down by excessive rear grip.
in short MAM for local race sanction, AAM internation race sanction.
That’s what MAM claim… but it just doesn’t make sense. AAM has been sanctioning local races for years.

If I want to get an international karting license I first have to obtain a national level AAM license and then change that into a International C license the next year. If I was using an MAM license I wouldn’t be able to do that the way things are now.

I hope they are planning to cooperate because some of the stuff sounds good but there is zero reason to have another sanctioning body.

Right bro, I am even more concern about the following statement extracted from MAM’s website which says:

“Importers and local manufacturers are allowed to import and sell the above items duty/excise/sales tax free directly to competitors and teams holding valid MAM licenses”. So, what if you do not hold one or already has one issued by AAM?
Just great….

I guess the real competitors who actually race in events have to obtain an MAM license under a fake name if they want cheaper gear?

How many karting races has MAM organised(0)? How many have they got on the schedule for next year(0)?

Are you able to get a CIK-FIA licence from MAM so that you can race in overseas events if you get the itch(NO)?

I’d love to know more details and justification as to how a mere spring could enhance his performance and give him the edge against others…
It is definitely a part that could improve performance – it effects how fast/efficiently the gears are selected.

As mentioned though it doesn’t matter if it’s performance enhancing or not. A driver could have a 300cc 40hp engine strapped in and win the race and even though he put himself at a massive disadvantage he’d still be dq’d for not meeting the tech regulations.

To dq the team from the entire championship though shows that the scrutineers probably felt it and the previous infraction were more than just honest mistakes.

Too bad for Jazeman to lose out because of two dq’s but I’m sure he can challenge for the title next year again.

..so any idea how this “not to spec stupid spring” will give them an unfair advantage?…serious enough to exclude them.
I’m really only guessing here but slightly faster shifting possibly. Probably not worth an amazing amount over a single lap but over a race distance even 0.02 seconds a lap adds up in spec racing.

Of course it is possible that it was mistakenly put in the cars but there has to be some ill-intent one would think for them to be thrown out of the championship if that was likely?
Its amazing how the scrutineers can detect this “not to spec spring”.
Nothing too amazing I wouldn’t think. The scrutineers are supposed to be able to detect anything that is illegal. The gearbox is spec like the rest of the car and I think they only have a certain amount of gear sets they’re allowed to use so they are checked fairly often.
because we are Malaysian….. 😕
I don’t see how or why Nationality would have anything to do with it. The other driver wasn’t Malaysian.

It was a “gear selector spring” apparently that wasn’t spec according to star.

Wow I wonder what it was this time. :O

Doesn’t look good for anyone involved.

Really, really bad for the reputation of the team especially.

Check the Ulu Yam kart track page for circuit layout and architect’s technical drawing of the track.

The track will only be there for ~3 years or so after which it will make way for housing or some other development but a new track will replace it a few km away.

Latest James told me was that the track should be ready by May 2008. If you drop by Swiss Hutless you can ask him more about it ;).
