Because of the existing karts, we will have to think of how do we balance the performance of old karts (chassis, engines, tyres).I would welcome discussion on how we should even up the performance of karts in enduros given the definite inconsistency from one kart to another?
Actually we could get some feedbacks from the regular kakis regarding which kart is good or bad (as long as citykarting don’t change the kart number) who has been to the track at least 2 weeks before the event.
I for one could tell you kart #4 (if they have not changed the number) is low on low-end torque but okay at top speed. Not good for heavy drivers as you would be slow out of corners. #10 is okay.Nohad

2. In the last race, being Hollywood dramatic, the hero lost his engine with one more corner to the chequered flag but miraculously managed to re-start the engine mid-race. Even more miraculously, he was able to catch the leader and pass him on the finish line to take the win. Come on, in formula kart racing, you are lucky to make up 1 kart’s length at the top of the grid!
The last race sounded very artificial. Can you hear gear change? & the engine sounds more like a multiple cylinder 4-stroke engine.

ParticipantBut then we’d have to disallow you from participating in the REAL event… *big grin*
Aiyoo! Whylah? I have to sweat also to get the result, mah. Needless to say the RM70/= I have to pay the tukang urut later.

Participant
More importantly though is how do we ensure that the luck of the draw (bad kart, super kart) is reduced substantially?
We cannot always hope that Citykarting will provide brand new karts and tyres…. so we need a way to remove the bad choice / great choice karts.
Very easy. Let me test run all the karts for 5 laps for free and let my timing tell you which kart is lousy. How about that?

ParticipantBazet,
I’m 77kg.
Today I managed to kart at Citykarting since my last visit in Jan 2004. (No rain and I happen to be around Shah Alam, so quickly quickly go there to put in some practise to get a feel of the extended track)
I took cart #10 and somehow the cart somehow feels a bit slow. Somehow I could only wring out 1’18” out of the cart and I know it could get better as I’m the first driver for the kart (cold kart and am trying to familiarise with the track again) and the cart is improving as the tyres get hotter but before I could get the hang of it, my 10 minutes is up. Frust!
On the old track layout, my best time was 1’10”.
I would try again tomorrow. Care to join me for a spin?
