Well done to the committee for reviewing the results and also the parties involved for being such good sports. Sportsmanship is one of the pillars of MyKart and hope for this spirit to last forever.

At least the MyME is not like the MME, I think the 1999 (can’t remember exactly which year) MME still no winner declared. Brian E would know!

Loeb flew from Turkey after winning the Rally of Turkey straight to Le Mans to take part in qualifying (for rookies). Of course he made the cut. Superman Loeb!

I don’t have any equipment to burn onto VCD leh, though I remember some shops provide that service but I can’t remember where. Aiya, get a VCR lah, cheap cheap only (RM500 or less) and you can record Astro shows which you miss. I use the VCR to record rugby (Lions Tour of NZ starting this Saturday!) and racing.
This, I gotta catch. Anyone care to put up the TV schedule for all this month’s racing?
Go to astro.com.my and keep a look out for World Touring Car Championship on channel 82 (Star Sports). I believe the repeat is 4am on 2 June – set your VCR!

Anyhow, I have taped this, together with the last round of last year’s AFOS at Macau – more BMW domination 🙂
The last race sounded very artificial. Can you hear gear change? & the engine sounds more like a multiple cylinder 4-stroke engine.
I forgot to mention this. Yes you are right, they used a different sound track, not the high pitch whining sound of a kart engine, more like those NASCAR that runs on Daytona!

Perhaps another way to arrive at the minimum weight is to aggregate all the participants weight to arrive at the average weight. The minimum weight is the average or a certain percentage of the average.

eg there are 24 participants totalling 1,562kg, average is 65.08kg, then the minimum weight of a team is 260kg (rounded to nearest kg).

The normal rate for corporate events at City Karting is RM3,000 per hour, though that can be negotiated but as far as I know, what we are paying is good value considering the track is exclusive for MyKart use from 8am to 2pm (sometimes), which is 6 hours!

As said before, walk-in customers have to share the track and sometimes have to give way to 100cc / 125cc karts and that spoils the race.

For RM90, you get someone to do safety briefing, tabulate the results, organise the grid, do the lap charts, wave the flags, etc : these are stuff you don’t get for being a walk-in customer. Once upon a time, most of us were walk-in karters, and it ain’t a thrill to go round & round until the City Karting personnel calls you in.

MyKart’s format makes the interest in karting sustainable, coz competition keeps the interest alive. You can also chart your own progress through K3, then K2 and beyond.

Hopefully, once sponsors come in, the price can be reduced again???!!!! That’s just a dream for now………

The home page has been updated. Looks like they are affiliated to City Karting :

“Starter To Advance Racing Karting Team (STAR-KART) a public sports division of City Karting Enterprise caters monthly races and event as an establised karting service provider in Malaysia …….”

Maybe Fazz & Jules can find out more about this from Uncle or Wai Leong? Who is Dev – is he from City Karting?
