Ouch……that’s below the belt, Fazz!
Sorry bro. Couldn’t resist the opportunity!! 🙂

Anyway – will be looking for the mag this weekend.
Fazz, just call them to come for the next MyKart race to bring copies for sale! If they are willing to feature us in every issue with a small column updating the results, race reports and maybe feature 4-5 MyKarters’ profile, I am sure quite a few of us will gladly subscribe to the mag.

I think Traffic has problems with distribution channel. Being an independent magazine and quite new, a lot of newstand are not carrying the magazine, unlike the tai kor like Motor Trader/Autocar. Also, they probably don’t have the resources to cover so many newstand – I understand some magazines are put there on consignment basis so they need to retrieve any unsold copies.

Jules, any tips on driving the kart? Most of the corners which gear to use? Doesn’t the engine has a rev cut?

Can CityKarting start numbering/naming the corners? I know which one they can name “Fazlur Corner” – said with an ouch!

Speaking of reality TV, how do you guys think about motorsport related programme? In UK, there was a show (I think call “Who wants to be a Grand Prix Driver”) where the winner gets a test drive with Jordan.

If there is such a show in Malaysia, would you watch it? If the show is made in Malaysia, would you participate???
… but one single thing that makes it all worth it would be the wonderful sound of the V10 engines screaming past you. Simply amazing…
Fazz, there are a few cars with V10 engines that have almost the same noise – the Carrera GT and the new BMW E60 M5! Save the F1 tix money to invest then maybe you can hear the V10 everyday???!!!

There are a lot of unused new chassis sitting in 911 Zentrum. I think Wai Leong has looked at them before. Maybe that can be a possibility.

No mods? Alvin will be very disappointed :p hehehe

Yes, the gearshift will make the new machine a very interesting entry class of racing. Except for the exhaust, will all the parts be sourced from Modenas bikes i.e. engine, gearbox, brakes? How about the chassis – is that local too? Since the exhaust is custom made, it must be local – perhaps RIMUS brand?

Sounds cool……I have always had a dream to build a kart from motorcycle engine………imagine a Swiss Hutless chassis with an Aprilia 125cc engine & gearbox!

Let’s see where this project leads to. It will be interesting coz the maintenance part is very important. A modenas bike engine will be much cheaper to maintain than a special kart racing engine and if the parts can be obtained from your local bike dealer everyone can own a kart.

Fazz, I am even more of a cheapo than you – I will only go if got free ticket!

I went to the 1st Malaysian GP (1998 or 1999) where MS was out for most of the season and let Irvine win the race. I was on the hill stand oerlooking turn 4, a sharp 90 degree right turn so the cars are quite slow and you can hear the downshift and blipping followed by the roar of the engine when the car goes uphill after the corner!

As this is a big event, the fee should be more so we can discuss with City Karting or KartQuest to tune and service their karts one week prior to the race.

Alternatively, the kart operators can test the kart one week before the race and add balast to any “hantu” karts…….
