ParticipantWah, nice! This sort of item should be kept lah. I bought an original Benetton F1 winter jacket during the 1999 Malaysian GP, not too pricey about RM600+. Still keeping it although I have never worn it since I bought it!

ParticipantAren’t we forgetting about W & J (particularly J)? MyKart members should have the priviledge to bid for one date with them, for charity of course 😉

ParticipantJust like all other types of practice, you must practice with a purpose. When u train for a marathon, you will have set times to achieve over specific distances. So in karting, you must have a data logger when you practice. It’s hard work, that’s why I have given up! (sure kena marah by Jules after this statement).

Participant
i got a first-hand “jules treatment” during the last event… it was unnerving… hahaha…
it was when his kart broke down in of the k1 heats… he was walking down pit lane… muka serious giler… then i open my trapped and asked him “what happened la bro…?”… and he just stared at me… rolled his eyes… and just continued walking… …….
Bro, i think what happened was he looked at you, couldn’t remember your name (uncle mah) so he just pretended to be angry and walked off. kekeke

Participant
………So in a nut shell, buy the most expensive helmet you can afford to protect your most precious asset….er, your MAIN HEAD!
cheers.
If you intend to go to track often in your car, buy a FIA approved helmet or any helmet approved by a recognised motorsports body. If you can’t afford it now, go on track with caution and restraint until you can! Those at the HPC event down in Pasir Gudang will tell you why this is important.

Participant
………Personally for me, I can’t afford to do both K1 & K2. My wife almost had a seizure when she found out how much I paid for the K1 event last Sat..and obviously that night we had a nice dinner outing in a nice restaurant to appease her!
How come we can’t comment on how much they pay for hairdo, manicures, handbags, etc………one trip to their hairstylist can pay for whole year haircut for most of us.

ParticipantI think the AAM affiliation is a separate process though the formation of a club will give a legal face to all the current activities. Hopefully this will also bring in sponsors in the proper way and being able to approach big corporations for them to participate in My-Kart events.

Participant
……Also thanks to Steward (the merchandise man) for surprising us with the tiny tube for the angels… ……
I don’t know what Steward was thinking, the tiny tube must have cost him a bit with so much cloth. Please save yourself some money and supply less cloth for the top next time, like making the back bare 😛 hehehe

Participantwow, I missed the race queens! Looks like heaps of fun at the race, and 80cc in the wet is always fun. Great job by everyone.
Will try to make a reappearance next season. Must lose some kg and do winter testing!

ParticipantGuys, looks like the biggest obstable to Alvin is his father. How many F1 and F3 drivers got to where they are without parental support? See how supportive Jenson Button’s dad is? How about our own Alex Yoong and Hanifah Yoong?
Without that, you won’t go far in karting except recreational racers like 99.9% of MyKarters. By the time we make enough money to go serious racing (if ever), we are way pass the prime.
Alvin’s father suggested he didn’t get anywhere for the few hundred dollars spent, he has no idea how much $$$ is needed for karting. If you add up how much one would have spent if one attended ALL MyKart racers in the last 3 years (inclusive of all the enduro), you are looking at somewhere close to RM5,000, and that’s just racing without practice runs.
Alvin, you should consider furthering your studies in KL/PJ/Cyberjaya. You should experience more of life, go after girls, get drunk with your chums. Life without racing ain’t that bad. Look at Azlan, he is happy munching away at races and taking pics of girls. Racing is just a distraction for him :p hehe
Next time you come down to KL, ask someone to take you to the real dangerous place (which is not Shah Alam) and don’t forget to call us to come along 😉 Jules & I will buy you drinks all night 😀 haha

ParticipantOn travelling to Shah Alam being unsafe, your dad is spot on. Those buayas at the kart track will eat you alive!
On a serious note, Jules have been far off places bordering Mongolia and he is still sane (as sane as he can be at his age :p) so I don’t see why travelling to a place like Shah Alam can be dangerous. Just put your money in the bank and travel with RM50 in your pocket and hide ur ATM card.
