Member
Instead of meeting MAM why don’t you guys meet AAM 1st and find out what they have got to say and then meet up with MAM. My reason to this is simply because the karting sports is very much controlled by AAM. It is apparent in MAM web site at this moment they are only organising or promoting events like scooter & mini bikes races and also 4×4 challenges.
we will consider this. our goal is to get some clarification of the current situation and how all this helps my-kart build the sport from the grassroots up.
any other questions?
pls append to the following list:
1. Will AAM recognise MAM or will they recognise each other? As we knew that only AAM is the sole entity to issue competition license for motorsports in the country recognised by the international sporting body.
2. If they can work together, how is the implementation like. AAM issue license and MAM promote the events or how? As we can see now MAM also issue license which I personally think that it is not recognise by AAM.

MemberONE YEAR LATER, and Sebastian Loeb has clinched yet another World Rally Championship – and his 4th consecutive world championship. Well done Loeb. Well done to Gronholm for pushing Loeb all the way, and making his way into retirement.

Memberthe feature race was a little more eventful. from the 15th grid slot, alex yoong managed to get up to 9th within 2 laps. however, a second lap coming together with new zealand (as the black machine attempted to overtake and turn in on malaysia’s bow) dropped malaysia down the field. a few laps of passing and progress through the field brought alex into 10th place until a tyre pressure problem dropped him back to 15th.
still malaysia showed good pace during both the sprint and feature races… hopefully qualifying would be better next round.

– a successful round-1 .. with many more rounds coming
– dedicated core members and a few lovely lady supporters
– 30-odd members and countingi am really happy that round-1 went very well .. the core members did an amazing job and importantly the participants gave a bunch of crazy guys like me & Paul a chance to organize this event .. i know that there are still a lot of areas for us to improve and rest assured we’re looking at this from all possible angles …
now, let’s keep the momentum going….
well done fuji & paul. looking forward to more updates on your future events.

Member
The Minister for Youth and Sports Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri Azalina Dato’ Othman Said announced today that the Ministry of Finance has approved a duty and tax exempt scheme for vehicles (go karts, cars and bikes) used exclusively for motor sport competition.
i am a little wary about the phrase “used exclusively for motor sport competition”. what if you wish to use them for recreation?

Member
I’ve been chatting with Ashraff on GTalk and he’s adamant on this. He wants to take it as a challenge to prove something…quote “like a charity thing without the charity”.
Which gave me an idea….then why not do it for charity then? I don’t mind it so much if he does that…perhaps my-KART can support by reducing his fees and giving RMxx per lap to charity..I dunno….what do u think guys?…
hmm… tricky situation. even if we do the charity thing… somebody still needs to pay CK.

Member
Btw Folks,
Assuming that races using the CRG karts will in fact be a reality come 1st December or in the round 1 of 2008, we need to discuss the pros and cons of the following:1. Eligibility to participate
1.1 Only to my-kart members who have paid their current dues? However, there could be a possibility that this action could be seen by my-kart website members as ‘elitist’ perhaps?
1.2 The other option is to open it to all qualified drivers (will have to define “qualified drivers”)but giving “good discounts” to kelab my-kart members with the intention to attract more members.2. Selection of Drivers
2.1 Current K2 and K1 categorised drivers can qualify automatically
2.2 K3 drivers or others will need to satisfy my-kart committee / senior drivers
2.3 A my-kart committee to approve eligible drivers should formalised asap. Please discuss.
eligibility – i would like to keep to paid members… not to be elitist, but will need some form of differentiation for those who have paid their dues. this is supposed to be a deal that should attract more paying members.
driver selection – agree with your suggestion on K2 and K1 eligibility and selection panel.

Member
first a BIG BIG THANK YOU to Azlan aka saa73 for meeting up with me and witnessing the ‘birth’ of Singapore’s karting group. Paul (my partner in crime) spoke to me about how lucky we were to have one of my-kart’s founding member there with us that night to impart some of his experience and guidance ..
fuji, paul and other founding members.
this is a proud moment for me to see the same my-kart spirit expand to singapore with your group. we at my-kart have long aspired to expand the franchise to singapore. and with more and more my-kart members moving to singapore, the timing is right for my-kart’s involvement in singapore.
good luck in your first event.

great find! this should be why f1 drivers are paid so much.
look at how depailler struggled to put the power down with so much wheel spin and opposite lock. and the track surface looked like a sheet of wet glass! brilliant. but my, what a slow outlap – 3mins!
