looking at the points, lewis hamilton on 109 points only needed to make up 1 place to take the title…. if only he was schumacher that would have been possible 😀
hamilton only had the WDC to lose. all he needed was to finish 5th if raikonnen won, and stay one place behind alonso in any case.

yet, he was sucked into a first lap one-up-manship with bitter rival alonso and simply put himself out of contention. if only he had slotted right behind alonso at the start… but there you go.

like alonso, should mclaren win the appeal and hand the WDC to Hamilton – i would be mortified. hamilton lost the WDC on the first few corners. end of story.

    what a result!

lewis hamilton continues a trend started by nigel mansell of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory when he initially slid off the track trying to overtake alonso… and then sufferred a gearbox glitch which dropped him 30secs down at the early part of the race.

out of nowhere kimi raikonnen pulls all the stops to win the brazilian gp in style and thereby clinching the 2007 WDC crown. well done kimi! well done ferrari… as it looked like the two red cars were a clear class of their own. felipe massa once again showed that he is a truly quick driver by leading much of the race.

fernando alonso did not factor much in the race although managed to get ahead of hamilton at the start of the race. quite clearly the mclarens were never going to be on the pace of the ferraris. so for alonso, the best he could do was 3rd and hoped that both massa won and hamilton finished lower than seventh…. which was a tall order anyway.

some drama at the end threatened to spoil kimi’s party but the result stands.

once again… well done to kimi raikonnen, massa and ferrari!
Massa was just excellent. He was like coming out of the shadow when everyone’s attention was on the top 3 drivers, Hamilton, Alonso and Kimi. He was super fast on every qualifying. But wonder if he is on a low fuel load and the Mclaren are on the heavier fuel load. It’s going to be a great battle but I still wants Hamilton to be the youngest rookie world champion. It’s history in the making guys~
yeah. massa has been very strong this year. however, many tend to overlook him partly because of the perceived strength & determination vis a viz raikonnen.

hamilton will create history in many ways if he clinches the title today…. however, i am going to go with alonso. i am getting a little wary of the media hype and adulation given on hamilton at the mo (which will surely launch into the stratosphere in the whole english speaking world if he wins the 2007 WDC).

    any comments on my-kart singapore?
ahead of you there. i’ve established contact with the guy who set it up: fuji sartono (who also is a registered member of the my-kart mailing list at yahoo). essentially, i believe there is a joint collaboration opportunity here…. after all, we’ve always wanted to create a my-kart singapore anyways… only lacked a champion / core volunteers to help make it happen. i would suggest that my-karters living in singapore establish contact with fuji.

    will let him respond.

anybody know the people there? perhaps they can join my-kart and implement the same in SG?

btw, the name should remain my-kart – as the point of origin (my) should be intact. so any branch in singapore should be “my-kart singapore”.

so far A1 Team Malaysia has been having a torrid time with technical problems. disappointed with the first two races so far plagued with issues. hope that things turnaround quickly.

well done to Team NZ for clinching the double at Brno.

alonso leaving is no surprise after all the scandals and controversies this year. however, moving back to renault is…

renault has to improve significantly from this year’s performance in order to be a challenger. but i am kind of hoping that BMW will be up there challenging the big two significantly.

a piece of good news for the A1GP series is Ferrari providing the engines to all A1GP teams for the 2008/09 series.

Official: Ferrari and A1 GP confirm long-term partnership

    11/10/2007

A1GP Chairman, Tony Teixeira, has announced a truly historic and ground breaking partnership between Ferrari and the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport.

Ferrari has signed a six-year agreement to manufacture and supply all A1GP engines for the series and will consult on the design and manufacture of all A1GP car chassis for use in Season Four (2008/09).

The partnership with Ferrari extends to an exclusive licensing agreement for all A1GP merchandise to use the Ferrari name and phrase ‘Powered by Ferrari’ from January 2008.

Commenting on the momentous deal, Tony Teixeira said: “Partnering with a world-class organisation like Ferrari will officially position A1GP as one of the most significant motorsport series’ in the world.”

The introduction of A2GP was also announced today, a regional single-seat racing car series developed by A1GP to begin testing in 2009. Ferrari will be integral to the growth of the new series and will again supply all engines and consult on the design and manufacture of the new chassis.

A1GP also maintained its commitment to commercial partners and fans as a principal factor in confirming the partnership. “Ferrari will add significant value to our brand and in our opinion there is no better partner to progress the series,” adds Mr Teixeira.

“We will be meeting with our commercial partners over the next few weeks to discuss the multitude of exciting opportunities that this partnership presents.”

Finally Tony Teixeira notes; “Ferrari has a global presence through its dealer network. We will be working closely with them to ensure that they are a part of every A1GP World Cup of Motorsport event.”

bro… i prefer option 1. i agree with naza. it is likely that the drivers in the team varies in weight so, the weight penalty may be high for many teams. furthermore it is not so fair on the heavier drivers in the team.

by the way… why do we need to include the 70kg constant in the team weight & average?

also… keep the constant at 70kg for now (to allow for raya cakes!).
