Member
by the way, are these for members only?
no. should not be limited to members… however, members should be able to enjoy preferential rates from CK.

Member
Here are the questions in mind;
-what to certify? giving them the chance to run higher class machines?
-on what perspective to evaluate new comers? Track time? best-lap-time? zero number of accident incidents?
the certification is to be comfortable that the driver is safe enough to allow into a full blown rolling / grid start race of up to 20 drivers at one go. so the evaluation will not necessarily be on lap times, but on –
1. not spinning at every other corner
2. understanding proper racing lines
3. not driving unethically (weaving / bumping etc)
4. attitude – must have right attitude. arrogance (“i can drive my souped-up wira at 200kmh, so what’s the problem?”) is out.
My suggestions;1. Run 2 months once on the second week.
2. plan on the course of what will be conducting for the day. giving a theorical classes on basic driving lines and ethics
3. Assign fews karts (driver pay la) that assure of it performances, get the fair-laps time for the new comers, ensuring improvement in proress.
4. small group of “dog fighting” over “chicken wing”. Which will be scale down version of real my-kart races.
5. Plan Schedule ahead for a year, assign to event leaders and selected event instructors for the day.
agree with all this, except if we can do this chicken wings session monthly?

Member
I’ll assist whenever i can… just inform when 🙂
can you & a few others help plan the event appointments for what’s left of 2007? And also when we plan the 2008 calendar? you may need to check what else is on the CK / Elite / Sepang calendar as necessary.

Member
is there number of hours requirement for the chicken session by MAM?
don’t know yet. but this was one the things mentioned by the MAM regarding event affiliation. they wanted us to certify all new drivers before the event start… which would cause logistics and timing problems for our already tight DRIVERS events.
personally, i think there is no time requirements.

MemberFlame on! 3 drivers fight down to the wire! Hamilton’s gravelly demise extends hope to the other two championship contenders Alonso and Räikkönen.
[table Pos|Driver|Nationality|Team|Points
1|Lewis Hamilton|British|McLaren-Mercedes|107
2|Fernando Alonso|Spanish|McLaren-Mercedes|103
3|Kimi Räikkönen|Finnish|Ferrari|100
4|Felipe Massa|Brazilian|Ferrari|86
5|Nick Heidfeld|German|BMW|58
6|Robert Kubica|Polish|BMW|35
7|Heikki Kovalainen|Finnish|Renault|30
8|Giancarlo Fisichella|Italian|Renault|21
9|Nico Rosberg|German|Williams-Toyota|15
10|David Coulthard|British|Red Bull-Renault|14]Great drive by Kimi to clinch his 5th win, making him the winningest driver for 2007 so far. Kimi is looking strong of late. Alonso’s second place keeps him in the hunt, although he must be thinking how much more he has to pull something out of the bag.
Vettel’s 4th place is an awesome achievement for the Toro Rosso boys. Luizzi makes it into the points as well. BMW seemed to have a difficult time with Kubica out of the race, and Heidfeld pushing to the end to pass Luizzi but without success.
Roll on the Brazilian GP in 2 weeks’ time!

MemberSouth Africa took the win in the sprint race, but GB won the main feature race.
[table pos|team|pts
1|South Africa|28
2|Great Britain|19
3|France|18
4|Mexico|17
5|Switzerland|16
6|Netherlands|13
7|Ireland|8
8|Germany|7
9|New Zealand|6
10|Czech Republic|1]With the new points system, SA takes a strong early lead over GB with France in 3rd.
Malaysia had poor outing with setup and mechanical problems. Alex only managed to qualify 20th for the sprint due to setup issues… but finished 16th. However, mechanical failure put an end to the team’s performance in the main feature race… retiring early on from 14th position.
Next race is in the Czech Republic in two weeks time. Brno circuit will host the second event of the 2007/08 calendar which takes place from 12-14 October 2007.

Memberi read the past few discussion posts with great interest. i do not condone bumping & contact in open wheel race machines. this is even more unacceptable if this arose from ill intent. one of the messages that i constantly share with fellow karters is that we must have the correct attitude before getting onto the track. i have no problems people being aggressive, but do so only with people whom you can trust and never do this with bad intentions (such as pushing people off the track or worse).

Member
Price from CK to us,
per kart RM200, including throphies up to 3rd placing, total of 12 pieces.
I have requested throphies up to 4th place and metal medals from 5 to 15(estimation of 15 karts)
CK quoted us RM100 extra in total of 48 pieces throphies and medals.
sounds alright to me. cheers!

Memberlooks alright, give me a moment.

Memberpositioning of the flag points should be before the braking point and not directly ahead of the braking points. the flag points will need to be able to warn other drivers of the potential hazards ahead of them in the braking zone.
