Membersure – we should go for any of the following dates (book all if we have to):
1. 24 Nov
2. 1 Dec
3. 8 Deci think we can have a few events going:
1. grand finale
2. special chicken wings – K2 CRGs and perhaps K3 & K4TheFazz
Member
Question : What is the date for “PAID MEMBER SINCE”?
since 1 Jan 2007. All expiry date on 31 Dec 2007. We are going with this approach because it is simpler administratively. At this point, I do not think we can handle multiple expiry dates (as on rolling 12 months).
I note the last date of payment being 31 March – but this is purely the date for eligibility to participate in the AGM.

Memberprice per hour sounds good. RM180 x 2hrs = RM360. 3 drivers per team. Thus, RM120 per driver. Sounds alright, but let’s test this. Do we want to collect some money for trophies and goodies etc?

Member
Also Finland has a lot of kart racers – and when Mr.Joe Average thinks he’ll take his family karting and he has a kart racer friend of course that kart racer friend will tell him to go to the best place. Being crap gets you a crap reputation real fast.
thanks for the commentary there bro.
it is interesting that karting in finland is so well developed… but then again, the finns are racing crazy. if they are not karting, they are rallying.
i dream of malaysia being at this level with regards to karting so that we can produce our own homegrown racing heroes.

Memberagree with gallery 2. tested it before and itzzz goooodzzzz… it also can be integrated with the engine for this site (drupal)… although i didn’t do it as the layouts were not quite integrated.

Membercan we do a purchasing power parity comparison of karting costs in different countries? let’s compare to (say) how many big macs it would take to run an 80cc 2-stroke for 10minutes.

Member
The most evenly matched karts I ever tried was at an indoor rental place in Finland – the difference between the best and the worst kart was only ever about 3 tenths on fairly long lap. They were that way because they were meticulously maintained – the main thing was that you could hardly ever feel a difference in the handling of the different karts.
When the kart rental operators are lazy (like most are, and pretty much all places in Malaysia) the alignment is never checked and parts are only replaced when they break and cleaning of the karts is unheard of you get karts that are way off any kind of setup.
mikko makes some great points here. whilst the current state of rental karting operations leaves a lot to be desired, is there anything that we can do to (together with the operators) to move towards the aspired situation in finland? this would go a long way towards the development of the karting scene in the country with a lot more professional organisations involved in the business.

Memberwould not mind a couple of rounds at elite… only thing is they do not have enough karts for a large group like ours. so for now, no “official” rounds at elite. we can have once off enduros etc.

Member
Its currently 170 right?
current my-kart member rate is 160. we charge 170 to non-members.
but otherwise Luen’s updated letter is alright.
TheFazz
Memberthanks for this luen. agree with the document, but i thought the pricing would increase to RM170 in 2008 and then RM180 in 2009. also we need to make sure that there are no other commitments needed (eg. 6 enduro races etc). we will commit to 10 K2 races though. also the fee will be paid based on how many drivers in each event (sometimes we have only 8 drivers per sortie) and not on the the 10 machines + 3 spares made available.
