I’m going for the event but I don’t have any race wear & gear yet. What I have is motorcycle helmet, if that is ok for karting. Other then those official race gear, any other options for clothing. Any advice, thanks.
jbm – a suit is preferred for karting. however the alternative is to have full length trousers and if possible long sleeve t-shirts. a motorcycle helmet (better if full face) is ok.

round 3 – bahrain

[table=tables-professional Drivers|Pts
F.Alonso|22
K.Räikkönen|22
L.Hamilton|22
F.Massa|17
N.Heidfeld|15
G.Fisichella|8
J.Trulli|4
R.Kubica|3
N.Rosberg|2
H.Kovalainen|1
R.Schumacher|1
A.Wurz|0
M.Webber|0
R.Barrichello|0]

3-way tie for the lead, with Massa hunting them down!

The season’s off to a fantastic start. Massa’s race in bahrain made up for the sepang fumble. Hamilton, further solidifying his position… it is only a matter of time when he stands atop the podium. Raikkonen still looks fast, but Alonso has cause for concern. Heidfeld is the best of the rest, and what a move on Alonso!
The four-wheel drive go-kart Chen was using can reach speeds of up to 250 km per hour and is usually reserved for professional racers. Novices usually drive “benign” vehicles with a top speed of 60 km per hour, making the sport “quite safe,” he was quoted as saying.
4WD
250kmh

Shame that some people like to sensationalize things when they understand very little to start with.
 ahh yes if am not mistaken we used this which is attached to the simulator car during our recent f1 events..it was soo cool as if we’re in the car itself! if we have enough budget maybe we could set this up during mykart launch….$$$$$$
sounds like a great idea. was thinking of the ps2 itself. but nice screen shots.

sounds cool. i haven’t played a race sim for a looong time now. but would like to try out a good racing sim again. last f1 sim was Geoff Crammond’s GP4, and then i played the PS2 Gran Turismo… but that’s about it.

naturally not so funny for the people how worked and toiled to make this happen, but significantly enough it raises a very fundamental question about the future of our automobile industry:

1. should we become an assembler industry, and hence focus on cheap and affordable vehicles?
2. should we focus on real development and competency building and hence maybe become a niche player?

the next question is are we ready to choose one or the other? i think we had a confused industry to start with. the national car project was to the public about creating affordable cars. but amongst the policy makers (then) it was about developing competencies. somewhere along the way the first option became more and more pressing. and looking at proton – it would seem that the choice #1 is the one being looked at.

hence, the quality of our cars will largely depend on our partners, and how much we are willing to cede management control.
We have now the real possibility of replacing the controversial rental K2 100cc karts with the PRD 125 / CRG karts exclusive for mykart races at the same price members are paying currently.
thanks naza. this is a deal which i cannot ignore. however, please look at this in the overall context of moving drivers from K3 to K2 to K1 and then to competition level karting (eg. Rotax max championship etc). do we have a natural ladder of progression? is this long term sustainable? how then do we pitch the K1?

i would also like the Chief of Technical and Safety (Jules, with Mikko’s assistance) to evaluate as well.

ok. i see what you mean. perhaps we can check with amri who has done the 1hr format including practice, qualifying and race.

cyclonite – you are right about the awkwardness of the 4 stroke kart flipping over the fence. some went horribly wrong somewhere, and we should learn from it.

but how “fresh” will the CRG chassis be? either way it sounds like a great deal.

once again pls hold judgement on the track operator and owners. if there’s anything to discuss with them, let’s do it directly with the respective parties. bear in mind, my-kart forums are open to public viewing… i know that a number of the motorsports authorities and related parties visit our site once in a while…

naza, luen, mizi – i am a little confused… this is to be used for K2 or K1? if K2, wow this is a great deal. naza – appreciate if you can update the main post accordingly for clarity?
