K2 Final A – I think…
That’s all I have in the tape… Maybe next time I’ll bring more tapes. The other problem would be the power. Need to bring power extension lah…
brilliant footage. well done nazri. he pulled quite a decisive move on yusnee. well done desmond as well for moving to 2nd on the last lap. yusnee for defending and maintaining position as long as possible. but who was the guy to had kart problems after challenging yusnee early on?

Member
I hope you guys could loosen up a bit the rule to encourage k2 on full grids. Of course safety issue and ethics should be the main concern here. Imagine 4 karts in 1 heat, so boring..
i think the rules are alright. perhaps you have some people who’d want to go direct to K2? if so, the same thing applies. if the driver has experience and somebody (core) can vouch for it, why not?

Memberi guess we would need half the committee to say “Aye”.
I would also support Afla on probation.
TheFazz
Membereither we can have a committee decision on this (if sensitivities), or a single point decision.
i am thinking of a committee decision. but each request must be recommended by at least one committee member (proposer).
process-wise, the person would raise a request to any of the committee members. he will need to justify his reason for so requesting the promotion. usual justification is based on either-
- competence at higher levels (eg. 100cc or 125cc) – to be vouched preferably by an existing K2 member
- consistency in 80cc – not necessarily the fastest, but consistency and accuracy
- on track attitudes
- top 20 rank in K3
In any case, these guys will be on probation anyway (2 races) to observe behaviour and competency.
in this case, i know May (Afzan, or is it Azfan). He has been racing in the Mega Enduro – so 100cc is not a problem. So i respectfully seek the committee’s endorsement.
Naza – pls recommend Afla.

Membermy response is let’s have family packages:
a. one principal member
b. immediate family member (spouse, children under 23) entitled to supplementary membership.i would suggest that a committee resolution be passed on this. we should agree on –
a. criteria for supplementary membership (as above)
b. fee for supplementary membership (RM10 joining + RM10 annually)
c. benefit entitlement of supplementary member (the same as principal)the reason i’d consider this for family memberships is to build a stronger social and family bond for the karters in the family. karting, like all motorsports requires significant family support.
any other thoughts?

Memberactually the design makes him look slimmer.

Memberyazid – no hurries bro. i guessed that it is a lot of work. your efforts are greatly appreciated. and looking at the times of your post… thank you thank you.
as for the archives – i do not necessarily require this but would think that we need to setup a my-kart video archival process. not sure how long youtube allows us to keep the videos.
btw, i just approved the videos to be posted to the my-kart youtube group. most (if not all) of yazid’s videos are there.

Memberlet’s see if we can get a common date. but not necessary to coincide with the my-KART launch. we can have it as a follow up event to generate more interest / publicity – rather than just a single big bang event (eg launch).
TheFazz
Memberyazid – just wondering. do you need to do any editting before uploading the vids on youtube? looks like a lot of work. but the shots are clear and captures quite a lot of the action.
i hope that somebody is archiving these footages as it can be used for future promo videos.
TheFazz
Memberthanks for these clips bro. great stuff.

Member
Ikhwan is 15 years old and is driving Swiss Hutless / Rotax Junior 125 kart. The junior max engine has less power (15 kW @ 8500 rpm, Torque – 17Nm) but the lower drivers’ weight will make up the slack against the Senior max power (21 kW @ 11500 rpm, Torque – 21 Nm). In this regard, and in addition to Jules suggestion above, I am suggesting that we also adopt the 2006 Max Challenge weight minimum for Juniors :
Weight:
Minimum of 145 kg including driver at all times.Ok or not?
agree to have minimum weights. but how does this reconcile with the minimum 160kg weight for seniors? setting the minimum weight is the tricky part. we want parity as far as possible. although it may be moot as winners’ ballast is added.
thoughts?
