I had a quick discussion with Azlan and do not think Tail Happy won the event. We will continue to review the results over tomorrow.

MemberLoeb wins his 5th win of 2005 at the Rally of Turkey this weekend. This puts him on a strong position to retain the world crown. But will anyone beat him??
Carlos Sainz makes a return in the second works Citroen with a impressive 4th place finish.
World Champion Sebastien Loeb won the Rally of Turkey on Sunday, securing his fourth consecutive win in the Championship. The French Citroen driver extended his lead in this year’s Championship by finishing just under a minute ahead of his nearest rival, Subaru’s Petter Solberg, after the final leg of the rally in the Taurus mountains near the Mediterranean resort of Antalya.
After seven rallies this season, Loeb leads the Championship with 55 points, ahead of Solberg on 42 points and Estonian Markko Martin on 38 points. Peugeot are top of the manufacturers’ standings with 72 points, ahead of Citroen on 68.
The focus of attention on the final day was on the battle for second place between Solberg and Peugeot’s Marcus Gronholm, who won the final stage, two seconds ahead of Solberg.
Norway’s Solberg held on to second place by 15.7 seconds ahead of the Finn, who had pulled out of the previous rally in Cyprus.
Loeb’s lead over Solberg was trimmed in the final stage to 59.6 seconds but he repeated his 2004 victory in Turkey and has now won five of the season’s seven rounds. Solberg has won the other two.
The next race will be the Acropolis Rally in Greece on June 24-26.
The top three competitors were well ahead of the rest of the pack, with Spain’s former Champion Carlos Sainz back in fourth and 3:02.6 adrift of Gronholm.
Sainz, winner in Turkey two years ago, came out of retirement for a one-off appearance in the Rally of Turkey with Citroen as a replacement for crash-prone Belgian Francois Duval.
The 43-year-old Sainz ended the rally 1:39.3 ahead of Peugeot’s fifth-placed Martin.
MemberThis, I gotta catch. Anyone care to put up the TV schedule for all this month’s racing?
TheFazz
MemberThanks for texting me… but unfortunately I was out hanging out at the mamak stalls. Just got back and did some research…
check out the reviews at rotten tomatoes:
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/kart_racer/Still… I’ll try to catch the re-runs (although, I hardly spend time watching TV these days).

Member

More importantly though is how do we ensure that the luck of the draw (bad kart, super kart) is reduced substantially?
We cannot always hope that Citykarting will provide brand new karts and tyres…. so we need a way to remove the bad choice / great choice karts.
Very easy. Let me test run all the karts for 5 laps for free and let my timing tell you which kart is lousy. How about that?
But then we’d have to disallow you from participating in the REAL event… *big grin*

Member
Perhaps another way to arrive at the minimum weight is to aggregate all the participants weight to arrive at the average weight. The minimum weight is the average or a certain percentage of the average.
eg there are 24 participants totalling 1,562kg, average is 65.08kg, then the minimum weight of a team is 260kg (rounded to nearest kg).
Interesting approach… only problem is that teams will not know the minimum weight until all registrations are closed. This is going to cause a lot of havoc.
What we can do however, is to use the average weight for the previous event. I don’t think I still have the data, but will have to check – Steward any thoughts?
If according to the previous registration list:

MemberWe have had a number of postponements and cancellations for the round 2 enduro. And I apologise to all for that. We aimed to have our enduros to coincide with CityKarting’s new 80cc karts delivery. This unfortunately leaves our timing much to Citykarting and to the kart suppliers. And thus the several late changes in the enduro dates.
For future events, I would suggest that we fix the dates well in advance and avoid school holidays and long weekends as well… and then we go ahead without having to wait for citykarting.
Because of the existing karts, we will have to think of how do we balance the performance of old karts (chassis, engines, tyres).
I would welcome discussion on how we should even up the performance of karts in enduros given the definite inconsistency from one kart to another?

Member
newbies being students, paying rm90 for 1/2 hours kart isnt the best way to spend money. plus, school kids do not have driving license to drive car, its not easy for them to go to CK.
maybe my-kart can collaborate with schools around shah alam and subang to join my-kart, have a karting club kinda thing. i really wished my old sekolah menengah had that kinda club.
not easy, but if u want to dig new talents and drivers, thats one way. maybe for the school kids, 1 heat and 1 final to make karting more affordable.from this link about mykart legal structure, there is a short mention of “junior driver search & development” . http://my-kart.org/web/index.php?q=node/144%5B/quote%5D
Bro – sorry for missing this earlier. You make a great suggestion about reducing the package for students. I think this is fair. Yes, myKART will in the long term want to reach out to students. In actual fact, I am working on a proposal for this already. Let’s hope the proposal takes off.

Member
oh!..oh!… wah!! such a big issue here (didn’t expect it became a sensitive Q) sorry Fazz if I’m wrong to bring it up here in this site really.
Most of the answers are consentrating on after we joint my-kart and base on our experience after joining my-kart.
Actually, the truth is that before I joint this group… the first thing that I check is the fees (compare) and than the previlages as members (unofficial), than the directions of the group (prospects) I don’t know about you guys…. that is why I keep thinking about how My-kart could put its attractive “first impression” before anybody join as members. Of course its a lot of way to do it but still the “fees” plays an important role if we study back our own directions set.
Thank u all for the keen clarifications, explainations and so… I do respect those answers. It seems that some gets my point but some did not… but its ok!
Bro… I welcome you raising this issue in this forum. So thank you.
I understand the issue about pricing. It is very valid. But I believe that my-KART fees are as good as you would get if you just walked in. I think this is a good benchmark, don’t you think?

Member
yeah why not… my-KART outing at the movies!
let’s make a difference… if others come decked in storm trooper or darth vader or obi-wan kenobi costumes, we come in our race suits.
can or not…?
we can be Red Bull pit crew…

Member
Wow! I would consider myself lucky for not paying double. Perhaps, I spoke too soon….??
I don’t think we should go that way. myKART shall keep the rates attractive as far as we can.
But Azmee raises a very valid concern (no doubt on behalf of his colleagues) -particularly for those newbies. We must still try to attract more participants (we want to build the Foundation) and in reality cost is a factor.
The only way I can respond is that give myKART a go (or a few goes at that), and then decide.
TheFazz
Member
Hopefully, once sponsors come in, the price can be reduced again???!!!! That’s just a dream for now………
If we all collaborate well, this will not just be a dream. The idea is to leverage all the entreprenuers, professionals and managers that we have in the group and build a strong base from there. I believe this is only a matter of time.
But myKART will always remain the grassroots’ choice, and we shall always focus on these people.
