Member
I think we want to know the seat limit for 2011 K1 category since K2 is now abolished and we have K3 upgraders.
as of now, CityKarting will be preparing 15 K1 karts inclusive of spares. The number of spares is to be determined by my-kart.
assuming we keep 2 spares, we have 13 karts available for racing.
assuming we split drivers into a maximum of 2 groups, then we will have 26 seats (2 drivers x 13 karts) available.
These are the 23 drivers who ran in K1 in 2010 and thus eligible for the 2011 K1 seats:
Lim Eu Jin (infernoelise)
Tarmizi
FAIBS
Nizam Rahman (nizer)
Nazaruddin
Fazz Rahman

Lim Chong Hanfor K3 drivers upgrading, typically drivers that finish in the top 20 and who participated in more than half the season are given priority for upgrades as indicated in the table below. However, drivers will still need to be evaluated for readiness (not just skills, but attitude, ethics & safety, and support of the my-kart objectives), and selection will be on first come basis.

this is to help the club manage the many wait list drivers.

Member
well, i can’t really give out any comment much because all of those dates that you’ve suggested are fine with me mr fazz. unless, my college suddenly comes out with any important event(s) or test(s) for the upcoming semesters which i have no idea when it is going to be right now.
as for May and July scheduled races,
we can change from May 7th to May 14th perhaps? in that case, there will be only 3 weeks seperated from Round 5 to Round 6(June 4th) which personally i’m okay with it.
and we can change from July 30th to July 23rd perhaps? this will be the same case as the above and again, i’m definitely okay with it. in fact, i don’t even mind if it is seperated by 2 weeks for july races(round 7 and 8) because, we will be on the break for ramadhan and the next race will be at least 40 days after? perghh…that is such a looonnggg timeeee (:P)
again, the only racing commitment that i have right now is My-Kart Drivers Series and perhaps some of the CK events itself. so, i’m fine when it is going to be or how close it is going to be seperated 2 consecutive rounds which is not really the same case with other my karters that have achieved pro level or having more commitments than i am. so, my comment aren’t really relevant of course.
thanks for the feedback bro.
i am fine to shorten the gap between round 5 and 6, and similarly rounds 7 and 8. i would go with that, unless there are other major events / holidays etc that clashes.
still – the ramadhan gap is pretty long. 😛

Memberfolks, please do comment whether the calendar is ok. would also need to take note of the Malaysian superseries (MSS):
7-8 May
25-26 Jun
29-31 Jul
24-25 Sep
18-20 Novthe may and July dates clash with MSS. do suggest alternative dates.

Member
thx for the xplanation..
how many races is there in one season? is it by monthly basis?
when is the next event after 12 jun?
thanks naza for the explanation.
to further answer your questions: there are typically 10 races each season. we’ve been racing since 2002. most of our races are on the first saturdays of the month, unless there are some other major event clashing with it. we break for the festivities and ramadhan.
for the event list, do look for the event calendar on the menu. the next race after round 06 is on 3rd july.
see you on the track. 😉
