Member
for next season, both french manufacturers pug and cit. gonna pull out or just cit.?

I understand it is only Citroen. I thought PSA would want to focus on one brand (ie Peugeot).

Membersiewweng – you may be right about the number of teams above the 280kg limit. I would like to fix it at an average of 70kgs per driver as you have calculated… perhaps then review it to 65kgs next time.

MemberLoeb takes his second win of the year as his championship rival Petter Solberg in the Subaru finished 3rd behind Gronholm. This win puts Loeb within 1 point of championship leader Solberg at 25 vs 26points.
Loeb had a strong event in the Citroen Xsara and was unworried for most of the event.

Loeb secures victory in NZ
Sebastien Loeb – CitroenReigning champion Sebastien Loeb dominated the Propecia Rally New Zealand to take his second win of the year and move right back into the thick of this year’s title fight. The Frenchman took the lead midway through Friday’s opening leg and was never header, building up a commanding lead of almost a minute in his Citroen.
Friday held the promise of a three-way battle as pre-event points leader Petter Solberg defied form and kept up with the leaders. As first car on the road the 2003 champion was expected to lose time sweeping the loose gravel off the hard-packed base, but overnight rain and a shrewd tyre choice for a Pirelli compound suited to cooler, damper conditions allowed him to keep his Subaru ahead of the pack. As the stages dried, however, the Norwegian succumbed to Loeb and Peugeot’s double champion Marcus Gronholm.
More overnight rain allowed Solberg to stage a brief resurgence to re-pass Gronholm on Saturday morning’s opening loop, but as the stages dried again, the superiority of Peugeot’s pick of Pirelli tyres more suited for drier, hotter conditions allowed the Finn to move back into second again. More rain on Saturday night maintained the promise of a titanic battle between the two former champions on the final leg, but some masterly stage times from Gronholm and rapidly drying stages that limited the potential of Solberg’s tyres ensured the Finn kept second. All the while, Loeb continued on his serene way to victory, taking advantage of what appeared to be a superior package with his Citroen Xsara and Michelin tyres.
Francois Duval made it a double celebration for Citroen, finishing in the points for the first time after showing potential, but ultimately failing to translate it into finishes, in the opening three rounds of the year. Markko Martin in the second Peugeot continued his solid points-scoring record with fifth after overtaking Ford’s Toni Gardemeister on the final leg of the rally. Young Australian Chris Atkinson in the second Subaru had an impressive rally, taking advantage of his admittedly limited local knowledge to take the first two stage wins of his career on his way to seventh.
Gigi Galli – who topped the pre-rally shakedown – defied a host of problems to finish eighth for Mitsubishi ahead of a slightly downbeat performance from team-mate Harri Rovanpera. Armin Schwarz was the top works Skoda finisher, coming in 11th behind Citroen privateer Manfred Stohl, but ahead of Ford privateer Antony Warmbold. Janne Tuohino in the second Skoda was on course for 13th, but retired on the final leg with a suspected turbo problem. Mitsubishi driver Xavier Pons won the Production WRC class for drivers of Group N cars after Subaru driver Toshi Arai lost time with brake problems.
In the drivers’ championship Loeb has now moved back up to second in what is turning out to be a ferociously-fought scrap. He’s now just one point behind Solberg, while the second podium finish in a row for Gronholm has allowed him to move up to equal fourth with Gardemeister behind Peugeot team-mate Martin. In the manufacturers’ title chase a double points haul for Peugeot has allowed it to build up a significant 12-point margin over newly-promoted second-placed Citroen and the equally recovering Subaru. Ford has now dropped to fourth, and Mitsubishi is down to fifth ahead of Skoda.
MemberSome updates on the weight penalties.
I was just at the track a while ago (between 1430-1530hrs on 9 April 2005). Jason Lu was doing his 125cc testing as usual, so asked him to test lap times on the 80cc with and without weights – each for 5 laps. The weather was slightly overcast but was consistent for both the stints.
Jason took the 80cc kart #3 and was averaging 1’13.427s (excluding the lowest and highest lap times).
We added about 6kg weights and his lap times dropped to an average of 1’15.410s – which is about 2secs disadvantage. Jason’s lap times were pretty consistent during both stints – table below…
[CSV]
lap,without weights,with 6kg weights
1,1’14.150,1’15.540
2,1’13.350,1’15.240
3,1’13.370,1’15.600
4,1’13.300,1’15.310
5,1’13.560,1’15.380
[/CSV]Analysis:
[CSV]
description,without weights,with 6kg weights
Total 5 laps,6’07.730,6’17.070
Best time,1’13.300,1’15.240
Slowest time,1’14.150,1’15.600
Total time excluding fastest & slowest laps,3’40.280,3’46.230
Average excluding fastest & slowest laps,1’13.427,1’15.410
[/CSV]This works out to be:

+0.331secs per kg

+1.983secs per 6 kgs

+3.306secs per 10 kgs
Take note that this is just for 80cc karts. A team which is 10kg lighter than the minimum weights would potentially be docked 3 laps by the end of the 2 hour race.

Member
Maybe then i can get distributor price!!! hahaha. Okay, okay … reseller price pretty please.
Umm… why don’t you run the distributorship under myKART?

Member
Aiyah, forget abt Yugo or Lada or even BMW (whooping RM10milion investment) dealership. Lets just think about a Tony Kart or Birel dealership. Woohoo!
YY
Quite right. Given myKART’s aim to popularise grassroots motorsports, this seems like a logical decision.

MemberJohn raised a thought on driver movements between events.
This is quite important to ensure continuity of certain teams scoring. However, not sure whether easy to implement having the same team of drivers attending all enduro events.
An alternative thinking however, is having drivers swap teams except for the “team principles”. So, say you are team principle for Fast n Furious -then your team will score as long as you participate in the event. Your teammates may be anybody but along one of the following two options (need to decide on approach soon):

randomly drawn out of the hat (drivers by weight category)

self managed by team principle as long as within the weight limit (suggest average of 70kgs per driver)
Need to work this further, so further discussion is welcomed. Please constrain your discussions on the enduro format in this forum thread for ease of reference / revisit.

Also, anybody offerring company secretarial services for formation of company and on going secretarial work?
That would be me. Please confirm the venue & date. I think on 30 April I may be getting myself some coaching on drifting….but not confirmed yet.
Wei Li – yes we will need your secretarial services here.
Right now, I am trying to get a date which is suitable for the main people. So, 23rd or 30th is on the table right now. My preference is for 23rd, but will confirm later. We shall aim to use Brian E’s office in PJ to save costs.

Member
I was talking to Razak, Azmee and a few others about being keen to to give a go for this year’s Pan Global Alex Yoong F1 Driver Search (PGAYF1DS). All seem to agree that mykarters should spread themselves out to theoretically increase their chances of qualifying for the Grand Finals in December. Some thought of participating in races to be held in Ipoh, Penang or KT on the assumption that these places would not offer to much competition, although I would’nt count on that.
I suggest a max of 5 mykarters for each meet? (a little bit of arrogance here). So, maybe those interested to have a shot in PGAYF1DS could register on this Forum. Razak wants to attack the Penang field and Azmee for Ipoh. Anyone keen on making a trip to KT than? Wonder why they have not included Kuala Pilah in the list. Dont they know that the extremely twisty S’ban – KP road is where many talented F1 wannabees ( Alex Yoong included) got their skills from. Ask him laaa…..!!
Bro Naza – agree to spread mykarters over the PGAY(!)F1DS… (urgh! the initials don’t excite me *lol*). We did that last year, although most of the mykarters had a bad time. I tried 4 times I think and Tg Muneer suggested I took squash! *lol*
Good idea to attack different locations. Go for it!
KP-S’ban road? Yeaah! Nice one there, I’ve always enjoyed the twisty bits (including Camerons, Frasers etc)… but not my family when they are riding in my MPV!!! *lol* *lol*

MemberFolks – I am planning to have this on either 23rd or 30th April. Please let me know who would be interested in being the Foundation members (potential myKART shareholders)?
Also, anybody offerring company secretarial services for formation of company and on going secretarial work?
